Some said "others have the same problem", but under pressure tests, they all seem to perform a (a lot) better than the iPhone 6+. Especially when you go for the "soft spot" at the volume buttons.
As said before, it's pretty poor design. Making it a millimetre thicker could've enhanced strength sufficiently and even up battery life significantly. Of course, that would up production cost and thus lower profit.

It wouldn't lower profit as they would just increase the cost. As said before, it's pretty poor design. Making it a millimetre thicker could've enhanced strength sufficiently and even up battery life significantly. Of course, that would up production cost and thus lower profit.
The problem is people want lightweight phones. As we've seen lightweight makes them more fragile.
Anyone tell me whats best to ensure Apple have a replacement handset for me when I arrive at the genius bar? Or even what to pick, the best I can see it "service" but I don't want a service. I want a new handset.
Wifi doesn't work more than 1 meter away
BT doesn't work
Battery % jumps around all the time
Calls cut out after 1-2 minutes, regardless of who I'm calling and 5 bars of signal
I'm fed up with this handset.

Multiple full resets - still issues
return to factory settings - still issues
Tell me how I fix them then
I'm not saying they aren't hardware, just how an Apple Tech would look at it.return to factory settings - still issues

Better hope it displays the faults in store, and does after they perform a restore to default.

Who are these idiots that are managing to bend their phone - my thoughts before this happened to me:
In my history of using phones (20 years) I habe never ever managed to break a phone let alone bend one. I have thrown previous phones off walls and yet they have still not broken.
This one has been looked after with a tough case on it from day one and it first had a broken screen from a 1m fall which I paid to be replaced and then while in my pocket this bent.
Extremely poor design if I am honest. Not much point in the iPhone 6 being little thinner than the 5 if it starts bending like a fking wham bar under everyday pressure. Before anyone starts going on about other manufacturers having the same problem, quite frankly I don't care if they bend-they shouldn't and that doesn't make it a justification for an iPhone to bend that I bought with my heard earned money.
How in the hell did you manage to do that? You say it bent whilst in your pocket, did you put on a pair of super skinny jeans and do a full gym session? In my history of using phones (20 years) I habe never ever managed to break a phone let alone bend one. I know many are going to say blah blah never happened to me how big an idiot can you be to be able to do that however as I said I used to be that very person who used to say that, have used phones for over a decade and have never scratched one let alone bent/snapped one so be warned. Just my experience.

What car integration issue? What car/head unit are you using? Apple have actually got the best car integration anywhere with CarPlay (on cars/headunits that support it). Tycho said:

- Email doesn't come through which has been a long running issue and the same problem with Android
- large music libraries especially if you have playlists that contains tracks not actually on your phone cause it hang. Small, well behaved libraries are fine.

I've not used the latest VW system, but can see why a poorly implemented Lightning connection would be frustrating on a new car, as the technology hasn't changed in a while. I don't know if VW participate in the made for iPhone programme or not, as some car makers get their systems certified by Apple.
There seems to have been changes to the music application on iOS 8.4 beta 2, hopefully that doesn't break car integration, which unfortunately it did last time Apple changed it (removed Podcasts).

Still does the same stuff, no wifi anywhere, calls cut out after 1 min, with full signal.

Did they change it? Maybe try a new sim for the call issues. Maybe even try no sim and test the wifi. Something's not right (obviously).Still does the same stuff, no wifi anywhere, calls cut out after 1 min, with full signal.

the love/hate figure that is the Mk7 VW Golf R. I am sure CarPlay is great, but it's not on that car. It's a wired connection using a VW OEM lightning cable. Not BT.
I've given up with the MEDIA-IN cable as it's falling apart. BT is nearly as functional and I've had no issues with it. Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
