Any ideas on using a US handset vs a UK one if the antennas are still different for LTE and 4G?

My brother will be in the US coming home around the 22nd of September. I might get him to get one for me if it can be used here.
unless it's half the price of what it is over here, personally i couldn't be fked with the hassle.

No wonder Apple now want you to buy a watch, so you can leave the behemoth in your pocket where it's still unsightly pressing out a huge square shape in your pants.

I tend to judge people with big phones as a bit weird. Indeed all these big mobile devices that let people hide from the real world makes me think people are social retards if they take them out into public/social environments.

So, any bet on when you'll join the social retard club or are you still using a 3310?

Chaps - what is the process if I wanted to walk into an Apple store later this month and buy a 6 outright (i.e. sim-free)?

Do you need to pre-book or anything?

Scrap that read it again.

the tech I talked to seemed to think that you would be able to just walk in and get one whenever. It would be quicker if you pre-ordered anyway as you would just walk in a pick it up.

Apparently Apple are making sure that there isn't the supply issue like what they had with the Ip5.

Last year I ordered my 5S on the day of release from Phones 4 U, and had it in my hand by 11:30 the next morning.

Sod this queueing bks.

thats mainly because its a revision of a phone that had already been out for a while, the demand isnt nearly as high as a new form/generation iphone.

iP5 is big enough. It doesn't look retarded.

These 6"+ things do.

Thanks for your time.

Looks like someone has gotten hold of a 6 already. Or someone has made a very convincing knockoff...

I quite like the look of it. It'll be nice to have a slightly bigger screen.

Why do you feel the need to judge people at all ? I will be buying the 6 because it's bigger and my eyesight is deteriorating and I had trouble reading txt on my 5.

I'm not hiding from anything, least of all the real world and I'm not a social retard. But speaking of retards, they usually make statements like "I tend to judge people" and "hide from the real world" . . . so if there's a mirror in your student digs, have a look in it smile

But the new iPhone even in it's biggest guise won't be 6"+?

I'm a bit of a geek so looking forward to the event on Tuesday. My 5 has been a great phone but a slightly bigger screen would be nice although I not so sure about the 5.5" as that is getting into iPad mini territory.

Off to list my unlocked 16gb 5 on the PH Classifieds or the dreaded eBay....

Just out of interest i've been looking at moving my 5 phone on.

What do the PH mess think about selling private on the likes of ebay or trading in with a service provider as they say they can get £250 minimum?

Don't touch eBay for selling iPhones.

Especially iPhones after an update announcement, it'll be scammers and chancers central for a month or so.

Your network or CEX will be hassle free for a small headline hit on value.

It's a telephone though.

If you have crappy eyesight and need to read lots of text, there are iPad Mini and iPad, among a huge raft of other mid size devices to suit those needs.

Maybe if the iPhone wasn't a phone then fine, but for me it's a big thing to lug around in your pocket everywhere you go even at the current size. More so with sharp edges rather than the pocket forming rounded classic shape.

Do you really need to carry a device that is big enough to watch feature films, read piles of books, or do office type word processing, everywhere you go?

I just think it's weird that even 5 years ago people would take a small laptop, now they want their small phone to be their big laptop, which is causing creeping sizes for mobiles.
At this rate, another few generations, and everyone is gonna carry an iPad Mini or iPad sized device with them as their mobile... forever able to remove themselves from reality by stuffing their head into 'other things' rather than engaging with the world around them.

Give me an iPhone Mini, please. I want nice hardware, I don't want a brick in my pocket just in case I decide to read a novel, or watch a feature length film while I'm out shopping or something.

Stop the press. If I think I'll want some distraction or a big screen, I can take an iPad or laptop with me! Wow! Sensational breakthrough!

The rest of the time I can carry a tiny small light phone, like we all used to enjoy 15 years ago with teeny tiny phones like the Nokia 8210!

If you can't determine what device/s you might need when you walk out the door in a morning then that is fine, but some of us can and just want a smaller bloody phone!

I have listed mine at £250 but it's unlocked and in really good condition (been in a case since new) - I could sell it immediately for circa. £190 to envirfone ect. but they are going for good money on ebay so will give it a shot. The problem with ebay is the fees and the fraudsters but I have listed it for collection only which should help minimise the hassle. I remember selling my iPhone 4 on ebay (collection only) and within an hour of the listing going live a local taxi driver was at my door with the cash - if only it was always that simple!

In contrast selling my 4 on eBay was easy, painless and lucrative.

O2 are offering £260 for my 5S. Seems pretty decent for a no hassle trade in.

I'd only sell it privately to someone I know, CBA listing on eBay and all the hassle for a couple more quid!

CEX offer £220 for mine which isn't that bad, and sell for £380 - which sounds like a lot for a 5!
