I used to love Register1. The service was fast and reliable, with great service. It seemed to go rapidly downhill about a year ago.

I am moving everything over to name.com who have similar prices and quick support.
When did they get bought out again...?
About the time Jamie got his F40? hehe

tsohost does look rather good. I have 20 domains with R1 so quite tedious to move them all over.

20! I've got 1 site with them.

I could retire if I had 20 sites.

I have not had the brilliant service i have been used to from them recently either.

Slow to reply and no real help when (and I still have) catch-all email issues.

Last week they emails me to say no-one had updated this issue so they were going to close it.

I was waiting for them to up date it!

I have a whole bunch of hosting and email servers with them, will be a real pain to move them across.

they (Tsohost) do offer a free migration service (number of sites dependent on package)

20 domains, only 4 sites, none of which make any money!

Moved all my sites to tsohost - brilliant service and reasonably priced.
I have a few customer sites with TSOHost - a good experience

You should be able to find an affiliate code easily - even cheaper then

Vidahost are also good

Have used Vidahost/TSOhost many times before and never had any problems, if anyone was looking to change over. Not looked for a while but certainly were cheaper than Reg1 when I looked.

Mine has been slow all afternoon, and now I can't access the mail server at all. Anyone else?

Timing out currently. I really wanted to migrate later on, but I can't have this.

Register 1's own site is down as well.

Looks like I'll be moving, then. I can't run a business like this. Can anyone explain to me how I migrate everything across to another provider?

Depends what you're running. Also depends on the new host.

TSOhosting, who I will most likely use, do a free migration. You provide the login details (IP, username etc) and they'll move it all across.

Thanks, that sounds good to me! I was going to go with them anyway, so once my sites are back up and running I'll get them to do all the hard stuff. smile

Just rang 6 Degrees - the operator had never heard of Register1 hehe

After much explaining (and getting put through to a bloke that sounded like he'd just woken up) apparently they are aware that their ServerStream platform is down, but they have no idea when it'll be back on.

Just need it to come back on now so I can move...
