I am currently fighting Tso Host, (and VidaHost, Paragon Internet and the parent GoDaddy EMEA)

I am having a problem with one of my email accounts and can not send anything to any microsoft email accounts, their IP Range has become blacklisted and they cant lift it.

It has been going on for 18days now and they refuse to move me to a new server or temporarily to a cloud account while it is sorted.

Blaming Microsofts new spam black list rules, that they didnt know about, but really? Something the sizes of GoDaddy didnt know it was coming or now doesnt know how to fix it?

bks.

They just dont care anymore.

Hit them on twitter and facebook this morning so lets see what happens. Its just time wasted (again) moving everything to a new host service, even tempted by going back to Jamie @ Reg1 now he is back, but it is a premium cost / service.

I will admit that performance isn't the greatest.... but I have had very rapid and helpful responses from the support guys when using instant chat. Both problems sorted in less than 5 mins.

Still happy at the moment but watching this space :/

18days and counting for me (with TSO Host)

Reg1 should be improving again now that Jamie has bought it back.

I've been experiencing those issues too. They did say other hosting companies were having the same issues but I'm not sure about that. Certainly not had any issues with Krystal (yet).

Register1 is shuttered, with all remaining accounts (there weren't that many as I'm sure you can guess) moved over to FirstServ, however I will say the focus of FirstServ is more b2b.. Im afraid the b2c glory hosting days for £1 a month are in terminal decline.

Always happy to help though smile

More email problems with Vidahost again today. One of my clients has been having email problems for several weeks now - passwords just stop working randomly.

Today I try to login to the Vidahost webmail and get a "Connection to IMAP server failed" error. Get on live chat, they ask for username and password then after a few minutes ask me to try and login again. Now it works, but I've been redirected to a different Webmail UI - I suspect a new version of the Webmail client.

I ask what the issue was and they've tried to say my password was wrong. I know it wasn't because I only sat that particular password a couple of weeks ago, it was tested and copied and pasted straight into an email to the client. I try again with a password I know is incorrect and get a completely different error message. They're still trying to blame it on the password though....

Their email services seem to be really going down the drain and it's making me very nervous with the clients I currently host with them!!

Apparently Vidahost/Tsohost are changing the password strength requirements for email accounts, so, I quote, "it's best to make your password stronger now otherwise you may get this error again in future". There is NO strength indicator when you go to change the password and nothing currently to say that the password you've entered hasn't met the requirements (whatever they are).

So if your Vidahost hosted email account suddenly stops working in the near future, just try resetting the password.

Personally I think it's some BS excuse for the fact that their webmail service went down on a server or two.

TSO just informed me of a large hike in server rental costs for a Windows server I have with them, so that's going to be the impetus for me to switch to a new provider next month.

I've had variable support from them in the last few months just like others here.

Shame they all seem to go to the dogs after a while.

It is the cycle of things.

Young upstart company builds up customer base with good product, excellent support, and reasonable prices. Company (or, rather, customer base) becomes attractive to a larger company who then buy it. Support rapidly becomes less excellent and prices less reasonable until it all goes to st and we have to move again.

Rinse and repeat.

I'm going one of you chaps can help me as I'm getting fairly annoyed now. Go to renew my site (domain is parked for future use) but cannot do it via Register1 as it tells me to contact Firstserv. Try to contact them and have left an email request but I've heard nothing. Only a few days left now and I'm at a loss as to what my next step should be? Really annoyed that this wasn't dealt with.

Log onto the firstserv website using your Register1 account details. It's all pretty straightforward thereafter.

Jamie no longer has any connection to Register1 and hasn't done so for years. Not since just before they started going downhill. Funny, that.

No, but I believe he owns, or at least is connected to, FirstServ, which bought Register1.

I cant see any tickets or eMails in Register1 or FirstServ matching this (last Reg1 ticket was over a week ago) but drop me a PM and I'll have the guys look (or just raise a ticket in Reg1 or FirstServ)

FirstServ login details were sent to the registered email address of your Register1 account several months back smile

Always a pleasure to read your posts but this one made me particularly happy. smile

That last email was sent via Firstserv and not R1. Couldn't do anything via R1 bar login. Off I go to find my details. If not, then i'll ping you a message Jamie. Many thanks.

Final nail in the coffin for Vidahost/Tsohost for me this morning. The main domain for my business (a web development/design business no less) which was on auto-renew was allowed to expire yesterday and is no longer reachable this morning. Been trying to get through to Vidahost all morning and just can't get hold of them!!

Awful customer service now and I'll be moving all my services away as a priority.
