There are lots of 30pin to Bluetooth adapters about, you could turn your dock into a streaming target.
How did I not know these items existed? That's made my day.

What don't you like about it in particular?
I'm probably just being a dick because it's new and I don't like change. biggrin

I've used Nova for a while and have installed that on the One. It's buttery smooth, that's for sure.

I'll see how I get on this weekend, but it just doesn't feel like a massive improvement over the Nexus 4 and I'm signing up to a £100/month (two handsets) contract for the 'privilege'. Maybe I just don't use enough features these days to make it worth having a top-end phone.

Ah right I see, that makes sense. Two Nexus 5s then? My father has one of those and its bloody brilliant.

Ok, I see what all the fuss is about now. biggrin

The new SIM cards arrived at the weekend, so I've had two days to use the One properly and I like it a lot. The performance is in another league compared to the N4, even with the graphics-rich Blinkfeed enabled. It's just a really smooth device to use.

It still feels a bit big in the hand but I'll get used to that.

The search is on for a decent case now, although I've got my eye on the official HTC car dock which is probably incompatible with a case.

My wife loves hers too so we'll be keeping them. thumbup

I've noticed this morning a couple of very fine scratches on the screen already. So got me thinking about a screen protector... most of these are crappy bits of plastic. Then I found this

http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/htc-one-m8-cas...

Anyone got any experience of these so called 'Glass' screen protectors?

Cheers. Look a little pricey compared to the ebay specials I was using on my One X (which I subsequently ran without a protector with no problems for the 2nd year). I've not noticed anything marring the One M8 but the advantage with this (over the One X) is that the screen is flat to the edge which means you don't get the same lifting issues and clag round the sides.

Could you let me know how you get on with yours before I take the plunge?

So many people talking about the excellent battery life on their M8 - the difference is definitely there, but I don't get much more than 24 hours from mine - mine does run my corporate exchange account on push email, though.

Does push email affect battery life that much?

Appreciate the info. I just know that I'll need to buy two as I'll screw up putting the first one on! hehe

I'm REALLY picky about any dust or air bubbles underneath it, it has to be perfect!

Dropped mine in Palma airport coming back on Saturday, fk. Weirdly not scratched and screen is fine, but beautiful lovely metalwork is dented on the bottom edge frown

Still, it's my own fault it should have been in a case.

Does anyone have an issue syncing a Google device policy managed account calendar? My emails work a treat (just a shame it drains the battery quicker) but cannot for the life of me get my work calendar to sync.

That, and spotify has now filled the phone storage and is moaning about lack of space, meanwhile my 32gb sd card has 19mb on it! Spotify says it will choose wherever has the most space to put your music, which is obviously tosh.

Bugger, shame when it's so new. frown Sorry dude. Almost a shame it wasn't broken and worth putting through insurance.

I've just sold my One X tonight which is great, really nice guy paid the asking (£130) and I put in the Kidigi Car Dock, a couple of gel cases, and a flip case that came from Melhook and a casemate shell case. Oh, and about 6 screen protectors! The phone was mint and I think it was a very fair price. He wasn't very phone literate so I helped him move all his contacts for him to the One X. He then said he doesn't have a laptop so I also moved his pics and music across too!

That lovely lovely metal work that is being cherished, suddenly get smothered in a case. Bizarre how we behave isn't it?

I picked up my M8 a few weeks ago, agree it is an excellent phone, and very impressed with the battery life.

I started out with the included gel case on the phone, but quickly got to thinking that I was hiding the phone away, and meant the metal body suddenly became redundant. So, I have taken the gel case off. There is the risk that I might drop and damage it, as has happened with Mr Jimbo, but perhaps that's the time to put the gel case back on, to cover up any subsequent damage?

I got the Boombass speaker the other day through the post, and was surprised the phone speakers operate at the same time. Is it only designed to augment the phone, not act as an independent speaker? I'm sure I noticed a bit of a phase difference that spoiled the sound somewhat.

Additionally, I see the Boombass uses NFC to communicate with the Boombass. However, it is a bit of a fiddle to get the NFC switched on. I was looking for a shortcut to it, like you can have for Wi-Fi or data, but can't find one. Does anyone know how to create a shortcut to turn NFC on and off easily?

Cheers,
Steve

The Boombass is designed to be purely a woofer. Mine is on the way but I don't hold out much hope for it being any good. I'll probably Ebay it.

I just leave NFC on all the time. It doesn't seem to noticeably affect battery, and I did the same with my N4.

Had my M8 delivered a couple of hours ago - Have noticed that the volume button is quite 'wobbly'. Is it like that on anyone elses? The power button sits nice and tight in the handset, but the volume button just rattles about. It works fine, just doesn't feel particularly good.

I've come to realise how little I now worry about battery life and how liberating it is.

I haven't managed to top my earlier feat of five days between charge, but three days is certainly the norm.

I'm a fairly light user, I'd guess. I tend to merely flick between functions during the day, though it does get heavy use in the evening. Extreme Power Saving Mode is very handy - I use it over night and at times during the day.
