I've posted this in two places for a good reason - When I open a long message thread, it can take anything up to 25 seconds to open - And, fairly frequently, when I'm typing, the autocomplete box doesn't fill out:

I managed to catch an example where I was typing "anything":

Is it just me?

I'll add that this isn't Android 5 specific though...

Two days in on 5.0 and it's brilliant, can't fault it.

Not just you. Using the google keyboard here and its all messed up. Swipe typing especially won't auto complete and when it does it comes up with some right bks and often overwrites parts of perfectly good words with said bks. I just had a problem now where it highlighted a miss spelling and when I tapped and picked the correction it replaced the whole message with the new word.

Also finding back space won't work properly. Basically stops working!

This. This drives me in-fking-sane.

What's the resolution?

I'd suggest doing a factory reset if you're having issues. I've had no issues with LP on the M8 and if you download the full suite of google apps you can make it look close to Vanilla. Out of the box though, I do find the mishmash of Sense and Lollipop somewhat jarring at times though.

I wonder if a hard reset might fix it as its driving me mad AND getting worse....

Any reliable guides out there?

I'm still getting lots of wireless dropouts. Not really to sure what to do about it. Don't really want to do a hard reset.

I've done a hard reset and it seems to have improved - I've not noticed any drop outs. Yet.

My hard reset took about 30 minutes all in - and that included about 10 minutes of buggering about for the two factor authentication: Send you a text sir? Sure. Can you read the text because of the logging in process? No. (Used the phone call option instead).

Most of my apps are installed to the SD card so there was quick connection there which also helped - What also helped was the 30mb internet connection biggrin

All my photos and personal stuff is also on the SD card so, all in, there's very little to lose on the phone itself - The only thing that I had to "fix" was whatsapp and restoring the conversation history which was a little messing about, but nothing I've not done before (you can't back it up to the SD card).

It is pretty straightforward. Honest.

Just make sure you remember your app passwords - That's the only other bind.

I'm not massively convinced by Lollipop, I find some of the actions in the notifications are a bit buggy, particularly my Alarm app (Sleep as Android), the benefit of this is that it is real test that I am awake, as otherwise I can'turn the bd thing off. I also don't like the scrolly task list thing.

UPDATE: The notifications thing seems to be fixed now, probably an update to the app. Still think I prefer KitKat.

Only issue I have come across so far is the Barclays app doesn't work with 5.0+
Cancelled the download with only a few seconds remaining when I read this... will wait a while until this is working.
This was working for me again today so I assume they have updated it. [edit: I mean the Barclays app is working again]

I wasn't a big fan of 5.0 when it was first installed but I'm fairly used to it now. I still think KitKat was the most intuitive version of android so far, I found changing things was usually pretty straightforward.

So I just gave in and got the update now, only annoyance so far is when looking on Facebook (browser version, not the app) the uploaded photos by myself and friends are all tiny now.

Not sure if this is a Facebook change or something to do with this update though, anyone knows?

The wifi drop, which has returned, is incredibly annoying....

Also, has anyone noticed that when the notifications for, say, facebook, come up - when you tap on it, it no longer opens the thing you've been notified about?

This - apart from fitbit (I don't exercise) and freezing.

I have a replacement handset on its way out tomorrow.

My third handset....

ETA:

A continuous ping gives this:

I know there's no WiFi showing at the top, but that was it in the throes of dropping - Response times aren't great around that...

I have the new phone....

However, the messages and contacts restore part WILL NOT restore and just sits, doing nothing indefinitely - Can anyone help??

ETA.

It came with 4.4.4 on it and you can't do an elective restore on that - An upgrade to 5 has let me do so and all is well.

30 minutes it took me last time - 4 hours this time....
