Bloody phone is doing my head in since the update so thinking of rooting it and putting some custom firmware on.
Done that years ago with one of my first HTC's (?desire) and that worked fine.

Anyone here rooted it and can recommend a custom Rom?

I'm quite happy with Android Revolution. No problems at all and very good battery life.

Strange, I've had my M8 since release and I've not had a single issue with it at all.

Mine's been great on 5.0 as well, sorry to hear some are having issues though.

My battery life has dropped significantly. In the past on a normal day at bed time I would probably have between 40 and 50% left, I'm now getting down to low teens.

I still have the wifi dropping problem which is mostly noticable when I play games that need a constant connection (like clash of clans) - to the point where I will turn off wifi before I start playing.

I wonder if there's a contention issue between the router and the phone...

I can't say I noticed any issues with WiFi on mine but with the recent arrival of decent 4g in my manor it's faster to stay on data...

I've been noticing this myself recently. Originally I thought it was my home setup but the same happens whilst using the work Wi-Fi. It does get a bit frustrating!

Question time...

Anyone know how to remove/disable Kid Mode? Preferably without rooting.\

The last few days I've noticed a bit of battery drop, Had a look just now and it appears that Kid mode has used 6% of battery today...

You've probably found it but there's a kid mode option under security in the settings. Might be something in there.

My replaced HTC One has a real dust problem - The amount of dust under the front lens is now so bad that I can no longer use the front lens.

Am I alone in this?

The smaller of the back lenses appears to be pretty bad. No issues on the front though.

Managed to disable kid mode in apps. But I want fking rid of it. Think it's coming to root time...

This is the amount of dust that's built up in only two months...

Yeah, definitely something not right there. Mine's still completely clear and it's just over a year old now.

The new one has arrived so I'm doing the "phone reset" dance - Turn on, set up, install update 1 (144mb), install Android 5.01 (850 odd Mb), factory reset, full restore.

I reckon it'll take an hour from start to finish.

Hey Rachie!

Get this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com....

See if it finds any malicious apps and have a clear out. smile
