Oooooooooh!
+1, things like the gestures when the phone is in standby and the quick charging are great and it just shows how the openness of android is pushing manufacturers to improve and innovate.

That's all very well but I can't see an Apple logo anywhere.
That's a bad thing because...
I'd feel naked and everyone would point and laugh. (Probably because I'd be naked)

Is it over priced and out of its depth?

Will 2014 be the year of the affordable smart phone? as I think it will be.

Which means that it'll just work and future updates will improve it rather than murder it.

Look for the Moto G, can't get anything better than that for the price.
For 99% of the people that'll be more than enough. Though, as the market settles down, there will still be people who buy more expensive devices for prestige/to have something better still. Same goes with cars, a Focus or 308 will do everything most people do, yet they still buy the A4 or a performance car for a lot more money.

Op, like I said, if my experiences with Oppo are anything to go by, you won't be disappointed.

I could possibly overlook the non-metal body, that CF looks pretty nice. Think I prefer the back of the 'lesser' model though?

I want to wait and see how the OnePlus One turns out before making any decisions on what my next smartphone purchase will be. They seem to be doing a very good job of only leaking small tit bits of information!

Only 90 mins of so until the New One is formally announced. I'll be waiting to see what their time-to-market will be too as that may have a bearing on my decision. The Oppo is in with one hell of a chance though - what do you reckon on them upgrading it to KitKat before launch?

Yes, but when are Find 7 orders? I want one so bad! If it's around £450 it will be a superb buy. If we are really lucky, it will be €450... which is about £375!

I'm working overtime this weekend, it might be enough to buy one!

I was only interested in the 7 as well but I'm reading more about how the screen difference is unnoticeable and it drains less power due to the lower resolution.

I think anything over 350ppi will be visually amazing. Also I reckon the 7 will be more than 450 euro since the 7a is 400.

Screen should have a noticeable difference. Human eye is capable of detecting higher resolution
than this. This is a very good article about this : http://www.anandtech.com/show/7743/the-pixel-densi...

http://www.stuff.tv/find-7/oppo-find-7/review reckon the Find7 will be £360.... Think I will be buying it if that is true (considering the Find7a is £330 at current exchange rates, I am expecting closer to £400)

I've bought working cars , and paid the insurance, taxed and serviced them for less than that.

I don't "get" smart phones do I?

I'll be all over it if that really is the price, that would be bargain-tastic!

It does look like a fantastic phone. Will both variants be on sale here in the UK then?

I was delaying my purchase of a Nexus 5 to see what price point this would be launched at.

I can pick up a Nexus 5 for what equates to 280euro, so if the Find 7 comes in at 450euro I think I'll just keep the extra 170 for something else.
