Oppo Find 7 - the best smartphone of 2014?
Discussion
Mostly from reviews, I'd cut the cord and go for the M8 if the design is to your liking. The sound it produces is incredible if that's your thing.
Camera isn't on par with the LG though.
The LG and this phone have a higher resolution but imho that brings more cons than pros. In the reviews, they say it's actually nearly impossible to see the difference.
From my experience, I find that very believable.
Putting the Moto G/iPhone 5s (326ppi) and the N5 (445ppi) next to each other, you can see the difference but it's far from "day & night". I don't think that the 534ppi (!!!!) display of the G3/F7 would warrant the stress on the battery and CPU.

Completely agree about the sound - quality and quantity is exceptional for a mobile phone. I appreciate the sound on a regular basis, it means I don't wince when watching YouTube videos on it. In fact, I've watched entire episodes of Roadkill on it and it's been great. My One X would make your ears bleed - tinny and distorted and sound being fired away from you doesn't help!Camera isn't on par with the LG though.
Agree about the camera - it's fine (and the performance in low light is great) but other higher-megapixel cameras are better. If anyone wants to see sample pics from my M8 there are a load in this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... (page 5 if you're on 'big boy' pages, 18 if you're on 'girly' pages).

I'm waiting for the g3 I think. Based on the g2 it should be a great bit of kit. M8 is a very nice bit of kit but the value of the g3, performance, screen, ir and Android implementation makes it likely I'll go that way.
This feels like such a first world problem. I'm swaying towards the M8 but it would be foolish not to see the G3 in the flesh first. mini1380cc said:

Thing is, I work on mobile apps sometimes so it is useful for me to have a high end, up to date handset. S3 is not a bad phone, easily good enough for the vast majority of users, me included. If the battery life and stability were not so poor I'd stick with it.
Used the M8. Can't really fault it at all so it comes down to preference and priorities. The Z2 is larger and to me does not feel as nice but it is a great phone so if you not looked at it yet, well worth checking out.
Is this the full-on 7, as opposed to the 7A?
Is the spec as expected, any compromises?
And, could I... should I be tempted away from the iPhone (currently have a 5) and it's future evolutions?
Other than what I've read here I have no Android experience.
It sounds like the updates are not too cohesive but apart from that the OS sounds fine.

To be fair, some iterations of android made by manufacturers (I'm looking at you, Samsung) aren't that easy to first get along with. The "basic" (let''s call it Vanilla) Android, as google intended it, is much more user friendly. Devices like the Nexus 5, Moto G and Moto X run this or something very close to it.Is the spec as expected, any compromises?

I liked the OS OPPO put on the F5 (other than the icon design, which I solved using an icon pack ), I don't know how it evolved in the 7(a).
Keep in mind that this device will dwarf your iphone:

Cheers Zespak.
I am quite seriously tempted, not too worried about the size as I want a larger screen than the iPhone5, larger as well than the reported increased size of the 6, but I wouldn't want to go any bigger than the Find 7, which I still consider would fit comfortably in the pocket.
Hmmm.
