Yep, exactly the sae as Silent - except I think you can set up exceptions for important calls etc. Never tried it personally, I just treat it as Silent. I've got Stamina Mode back on the Z5P, seems a lot more effective than Doze at saving battery. It obviously clocks down the GPU as well, as transitions/swipes etc are noticeably less fluid.
Well i've finally got fed up with my Z3C screen going blank when making calls and staying blank even when moving the phone away from my ear - cannot easily invoke dialpad or speaker or indeed end a call.
It's down to the glue behind the screen coming away a little internally so you can press the screen on the top LHS and things will reappear, however, since the upgrade to Marshmallow - whereas the screen used to stay visible once pressing on it, this is no longer the case and in daily use, it's apain.
So I have bought a Z5 Compact to replace my Z3 - hoping it is as enjoyable to use as my Z3 was, I love the size, nothing bigger is required IMO.

No chance of a fix under warrenty? It's down to the glue behind the screen coming away a little internally so you can press the screen on the top LHS and things will reappear, however, since the upgrade to Marshmallow - whereas the screen used to stay visible once pressing on it, this is no longer the case and in daily use, it's apain.

Gutted, I had a similar thing happen on my nexus - I can imagine your frustration!
24 months is up so I've just upgraded from my Z1. Did look closely at the Z5 but was getting quite fed up with all the Sony junk so have gone for the Galaxy S7 instead.
Missing the smaller size, but the speed, screen and particularly camera are all big steps forwards. Fingers crossed the battery lives up to the standard the Sony set, but time is too early to tell on that one.

I got Marshmallow on my unbranded, unlocked Z3C the other day. It doesn't seem all that different in terms of speed, although that's not a bad thing as it was blisteringly quick before. The battery life however, is definitely better in normal use. As long as it carries on working as well as it does, I think I'll be keeping this phone for a while longer. Despite the issues which were sorted under warranty, this is still the best phone I've owned.
I've just investigated and it's a 2 year warranty so have registered the issue and will return the phone to Sony (free of charge!).
If it gets fixed, Mrs Chimp can use it as her Moto G is running pretty crap just now and low on storage space.
Chimp Jr just got a Galaxy J5 off the back of Mrs Chimp's new contract, which is in my name (confused yet? ).
I have already bought a new Z5 Compact as I don't need a second reason to buy new tech.

Had the android 6 update on my Z3c a few days ago and now swiping down from the top of the screen usually (but not always for some reason) gives me a stupid 'search apps' function instead of notifications or quick settings. Anyone else had the same problem and/or know of a solution?
After more experimenting and research, it seems that its not recognising the touch on the status bar and so thinks its a swipe down on the home screen - which brings up the app search (I can't find any way of turning that off).Apparently others have had the same problem: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/St...
Haven't found a solution but at least there is a workaround to make it less frustrating.
Im approaching the end of my contract with my Z3C, and apart from a hairline crack across the back which has knocked out the rear camera, its been a fantastic phone.
Has anyone gone from the z3c to z5c and what were your thoughts? Also how easy is the finger print scanner to use?
Cheers
Darren
