I can't cancel/clear the document. So I can't print anything. I've restarted both the laptop and the printer, and I have printed from another PC.

I keep trying to cancel the document, but I keep getting the message that command cannot be processed.

Any suggestions?

Clear the printers print list via its interface

I've gone into Printers and Devices, and cleared all documents - but it doesn't work. Or do you mean something different?

Do it via the controls on the actual printer, rather than through the PC.

In my experience of networked printers, when (not if) this sort of thing does happen, I usually resort to clearing everything everywhere, and then rebooting stuff until it goes away.

Sometimes you may have to reinstall drivers if all else fails

I've tried to do it via the (hardware) printer controls and the software controls. No joy.

Looks like it might be a driver reinstal then. It all connected automatically (new laptop) so I will have to figure out how to get it gone, then get it back on!

If you are running windows, go to control panel and then administrative tools, scroll down to print spooler, double click it and press stop. Then reboot the printer and see if the job clears. If it does, then reboot the pc and try the job again.

press windows key, search administrative tools

However, it's under services. So windows key, search services.

Just do a search for 'services'.

Scroll down to print spooler, stop service, delete print Q, then restart the spooler.

Happens to mine a few times per year. This always fixes it.
Got it! Stopped the spooler. Won't be able to delete the print queue until I get back home to connect to the printer, but I have learned something. Cheers!
