Chaps,
It seems I had my yahoo account hacked as everyone in my contact list got spammed with a load of old rubbish - annoying and embarassing as there were a lot of business contacts in there.

I changed my password to something horribly complicated - but it seems like the problem persists.

I keep getting out of office and automated responses to e-mails that I haven't sent. The automated responses don't contain the e-mail which apparently got sent from me - and there is nothing in my sent items.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this - contacting Yahoo to alert them to the issue doesn't seem to be a very easy thing to do.

Thanks

boxst

Are you sure it was hacked? This happened to my wife when she opened some attachment that seemed to read all her contacts and then send them an email. Removing all suspicious emails (and changing the password just in case) seemed to do the trick.

Also check there's no forwarding address setup on the website too. Then check the security details to make sure they haven't added another email address that they can then use to reset your password again. It comes under security info I think.

Yahoo seems to be about as good as a leaky sieve when it comes to security holes. I'd suggest changing mail provider in all seriousness. You say business contacts, is it your own business? I'd look into getting your own domain for email and using office 365/google apps. Looks far more professional IMO.

It's not my own business - but its the e-mail account which is linked to my Linkedin account - so invariably business contacts end up with the e-mail.

It's a PITA quite frankly - but is only a very recent thing and have had the account for 10 years+

Yahoo have had a lot of issues recently. Check your security settings, make sure that they haven't put in a password reset address that isn;t yours. Back up your contacts just in case. Enable 2 factor authentication if yahoo has it now.
