How come these seem to last only about 2 weeks. Use Duracell so not some cheap old ste.
I seem to be constantly getting messages about low battery life.
I don't turn them off at night but really ........

Using them with what ?

With OS X and Ubuntu 13.04 they last months for me and that's using them every day.

I had issues with Ubuntu 12.10 which would discharge them in a matter of weeks as it never let them go into low power mode.

I just have a set of rechargeables ready and swap them, the keyboard tends to last twice as long as the mouse, only takes a few seconds to swap them, better than wires!

Was looking at getting one of these someday

Same problem, when i got fed up buying Duracells I bought a set of Eneloop rechargebles (an 8 or 6 pack IIRC) for £11.

Really? That's mental - and as said, sounds like something isn't right there.

I have a Sony 'all in one' PC with a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I have had the system for nearly 3 years now. The mouse batteries have been replaced 3 times and the keyboard batteries twice...

Wireless mouse and keyboard with my 2011 IMAC. Mouse is much worse than the keyboard admittedly but comments here suggest it's not right.

Keyboard seems to last but the mouse goes through them at a rate of knots. Bought re chargeable instead.

Edit. I wondered why I was going through them, found one answer on Apple forums where someone reckons one battery was discharged and one was full when it (mouse) maid the batteries were empty and thinks the battery tray is using one, not both. When these rechargeable go flat I shall be putting the meter on them.

I use one of these; http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H9776ZM/A/mobee-...

It was a bit expensive but no more rushing out to buy batteries rolleyes when they go flat.

I use the same mouse and key board on 2 screens synced with 3 computers, 1 mac, 1 windows pc & 1 windows laptop.

I have heard that Duracell are particularly bad for Magic Mice, not sure why.

I work in an office with about 12 iMacs, all with Magic Mice, and the batteries generally last about six weeks. They're all Apple nuts so rather than simply replace them with a decent mouse, they have set up a rotation of rechargeable batteries. hehe

I'm using a Logitech wireless mouse (the M510 which is probably the best mouse I've ever had) and I set up this counter on our intranet to wind them up. smile

Strange. Binned my M510 and now use a Magic Mouse! Found the Logitech really sluggish and unresponsive, plasticky and batteries lasted no time at all!

I use a magic trackpad rather than a mouse, but the batteries seem to last for months. Always turn it off when I stop using it, though.

Sounds like it was broken to be honest. The official battery life is something ridiculous like 2 years.

You wouldn't expect any mouse to be unresponsive these days unless there was a problem.

My trackpad seems to eat 'em. Just get some rechargeables and be done with it smile

I still get a couple of days after the low battery warnings start.
