Had mine since yesterday morning.. I really love the screen, but is anyone else suffering with a weird samsung-like stutter?

Games play fine, apps look great, phone is huge but not excessive.. seems alright.

Decided that I'm going to sell my G3. Can't get over the size (perhaps I have tiny hands).
Great phone apart from that.

Had my g3 for a few days now. All in all, it is a great bit of kit. It is a bit on the large side but I find it comfortable to hold and its footprint is near identical to the z2, but the g3 is lighter and has the larger screen.

The screen is great but not good enough to put up with rubbish battery life, which was my worry. I am a very heavy user and the have wifi on pretty much permanently which is a bit of a drain too. Battery life seems excellent, easily lasting a full day with plenty to spare. On standby I think it could easily last 3 days!

User experience is fine. Better than Samsung certainly but that really is very subjective.

All in all, very pleased with the phone. It does exactly what a high end smart phone should, seems well built to me it feels like the most considered of the phones in terms of over-all feature set and general execution.

Having said all that, the z2 has other features that may appeal and although I think the g3 pips it for battery life, having OIS and QI, having used the Z2 a fair bit as well, there is not a huge amount in it for.

My G3 arrived today, very impressed so far and a huge step up from the Galaxy S2 it replaces. Although the battery seems to be draining far quicker than others are experiencing and I'm not sure why

Only other disappointment so far is that Virgin TV Anywhere doesn't work on the G3 and doesn't look like they're planning on allowing it anytime soon

Sky Go doesn't work either.

I'm sure once QHD screens are more popular they'll allow it on both services.

Oh... that's a PITA.

I'm leaving iPhones after 6 years and having trouble deciding between the S5 (don't like the dimply cover), One M8 (crap camera?) and G3. I was almost decided on the G3 but if I can't watch TV on it... hmmm.

The G3 is a good phone. I've just sold mine (too big for my girly hands) but the camera rocks, the UI isn't too st and the screen is amazing. TV will come - it's just the first QHD phone (apart from some obscure Oppo thing) so they haven't caught up yet. It won't be long smile

Nice,
But I'd still go for the Oppo Find 7a, all of the good stuff but with better battery life and a brighter screen, while being cheaper.
I love a great display and the jump from my 3GS to my SGS2, and then the jump to my Oppo Find 5 were immense. But on the G3, I just can't see it's actually better than my F5 or N5...

I used to think that but now when I use my old Xperia Z that the wife has, I do notice the difference with the Oppo Find 7. That said, the 7a is very good value!

G3 stutters and gets hot (well, my 16gb/2gb ram one did).
The screen is AMAZING straight on, but a bit odd when viewing from an angle.
The screen doesn't go as dim (although it's close, I'll admit).
The screen doesn't have as good contrast.
The rear of the phone feels cheaper.
It runs slower than the G2 (because of the screen).

A few people on XDA have turned down the resolution on the G3 and say they have good results - but I didn't see the point in keeping an expensive flagship running in a gimped mode, when I could actually have a better more reliable time with the G2.

Happy so far (let's see how long this one lasts!).

edit: You can always do this to have a 2.5... http://www.androidpit.com/how-to-transform-the-lg-...

Hmm, I can imagine there's a bit of a difference. But, on the other hand, as good a device the Z was, the screen could never compete with the Find 5 or the Nexus 5 in a number of areas.

How are you getting on with your Find 7 'cept for the screen?
I've got my F5 in for repairs (dropped it one too many times frown), I might enquire for an upgrade to the Find 7a...

I do like the phone, very fast with no lag and the sound quality is excellent when listening with the phone's built-in speaker. Haven't really tested the camera or video as I hardly use those functions. Can't say much about gaming on it as that's not my thing either.

The charging speed is amazing, fully charged in an hour and fifteen minutes! Mostly I use it for calls, texting and internet which is why the screen is the most important function to me with a fast processor to deliver the goods.

If you can get the Oppo 7 rather than 7a, I think you'll like it. The only pitfall is the lack of shops for support. It's a bit like Giff-Gaff, all on-line.

Isn't the only difference the screen? Like I stated above, I've seen the G3 screen and the set backs (battery, brightness,...) don't outweigh the gain (ppi) for me. Sorry to say this, but as tested the Find 7 screen is worse than the 7a in any way 'cept for resolution (still a great screen). For me at least, 1080p is plenty. Not to mention the higher price for the 7a.

I don't mind the "lack of shops", support is great as I've found out with my Find 5, and from what I've heard it's gotten even better still (there's a support center in the UK now iirc).
