Have you got one, or know anyone that does?
I know a couple of people with thl phones but not that model.
my mom's quad core one was less than 80 quid and its a very good phone.
Thl are made in the Philippines I think.
Definatly not made in china anyway.

The quality is very good full stop and amazing when you think if the price.

Another bonus is no stupid apps embedded by the network provider that you canr uninstall, which is nice.

I've had an iPhone 5, after I had an iPhone 4 for a few years. The 5 wasnt much of an upgrade over a 4 other than being taller imo.

My HTC One (M7) was more of an upgrade over an iPhone 5. I am not a sHeeple so I will stay away from Apple products, thanks.

I'm in a similar position - I'm not going with the S4 mini (from an S3) and am trying to choose between a S5 and HTC One (M8) - I'm leaning towards the M8. iPhone is a no-no as my apps are all up and on my S3 (running CM 10.2) and I won't go back (I used to have an iPhone 4)....

Could I buy that today, stick my t-mobile sim in and it would work no problem in this country?

I'd be interested to know that as well. Currently stuck with an atrocious Iphone which is worse than useless for my needs. Still paying line rental for a lost Z1 so don't want to spend a fortune if I can help it. Something unbranded or unknown would fit the bill.

Let's be honest the major difference in an Iphone, Z1 and that THL is marketing budget. At £150 it's a no brainer for me.

It would be really hard to pick a phone after you look at all the specs and reviews, I went picked the iPhone 5 and havent looked back since, my Galaxy S3 lives in its box as nobody wanted to buy it.
CEX will still give you over £100 for it, if you can be bothered.

My other-half went from iPhone to Nexus 5 and loves it - says she'll never buy another iPhone. Her old one sits in a box just like your S3...
Why doesn't she give to to CEX?

I think those frequencys are for the uk but you would be wise to double check.
If you do order pay the extra for dhl delivery as its loads faster.
The customer care at chinavasion is pretty good too, a friend bought something that haf a very slight fault and they replaced with no issues and sent him a free tablet worth about £60 for his troubles.

Great to know, lots of good deals on there. And plenty of info of spec to check uk compatibility.

She keeps meaning to, but hasn't got around to it. Simple as that!

I found that choosing a phone back in the old days was more fun due to the fact the physical differences were much more obvious, interesting and intuitive. Nowadays the difference are in the internal stuff, yes we've moved on and it's about screen resolutions, processors, ram and cameras but I still miss those early days.

Phones that looked like clam shells, ones with retractable aerials. Ones with stumpy permanent aerials. Active flips, plastic 'do nothing' flips, ones so tiny they were really were 'mobile' in the fullest sense. And a whole host more. I remember getting an Ericson EH237 as my first phone, the fact it had a stumpy permanent aerial that didn't have to be extended to make a call was pretty cool at the time. And it's was small.

Now it's all (from a physical perspective anyhow) about a rectangle with a screen on the front. And the excitement is about the size of the bezel at the top and bottom. If you can call it excitement.

I just ordered one so I'll update in 10-25 days. (For airmail!?!)

Didn't see any upgrade option.

I've had my HTC One for about the same length of time and I can kind of understand why you'd want to upgrade, but I'm more than happy to keep this thing.

The specifications of the phone are still near enough what has been released this year. Its been mentioned that it will have an update to Android 5.0 which is quite good, I just don't see why you want to spend all that money on a new device.

If I was going to get another phone, I'd say the HTC One M8, but then I don't really like the way they've removed the hardware buttons, and that it is slightly larger.

Taking away the buttons, I offered up my M7 to the gf's M8, and there was VERY little in the screen size.

Good news on Android L, though I'm not sure what different in it?

Yeah I've seen a video of a comparison and agree there isn't a lot of difference, I just think the 2013 One is just the right size.

Not sure if there will be much, just the newly released version.

It's not difficult, buy an iPhone.

Windows mobile is a bit of a flop, even if it has some redeeming features as they were far to late to market with it. If you want something with some 5 minute novelty factor to fiddle with, get an Android device.

Unless you want something that iPhone doesn't have/do. It's the A3 TDI S-Line of the telephone world; very good by every measurable number but just a little dull and rather pricey for what it is.

Personally, iPhones drive me mad every time I try to use one. Nothing works the way that I expect it to and there are all sorts of silly restrictions that get in the way. I prefer spending a couple of days setting up my phone to work the way that I want, rather than using it the way that the manufacturer has decided is best. I am fully aware that a lot of people have other opinions.

Strange, the 5 minute novelty for me seems to have lasted about 4 years now, can't say I ever get bored of having full control of my device and being able to use it in whatever way I see fit. Considering the raft of additional functionality on a droid, plus the fact it seems much more reliable these days, you'd have to be pretty simple to see the iPhone as a better way of doing things.

OP I'd just go for the Z2 personally. Even though the Z3 will be out later in the year, leaks suggest there will be very little difference from the Z2, which is still a brilliant handset. The Z2 will still be a current model until the Z4 is out anyway, as Sony tend to keep 2 "flagships", the Z2 for those who want the best of everything, and the Z1 for a slightly cheaper price. Oh, and the Z1 Compact for those who want a smaller phone.

I'm on an original Z, and it certainly doesn't feel massively behind the Z2 in any way except the camera.

Nope. I think it's coming on the back of a donkey.

I thought the 10-25 days would be to cover their arses but no, according to the tracking

Status Date Status Description
29-07-2014 Received from Customer
31-07-2014 Despatched to overseas (Country code: GB)
08-08-2014 Arrived at overseas (Country code: GB)

So I'm expecting it this week. If I spot a camel on the street I'll know it's for me. Advice: look harder for a priority shipping option.
