Need a new TV

Our ancient CRT 32" TV in the living room has finally given up the ghost the other night & refuses to turn on. My mum's been saying she wants a new TV in there for a few years but just never done anything about it, but now she's at the point where she has to.

Just after some advice on what to buy & where to go buy it from.

She's decided she wants a 50" & she also has a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 so if there's any benefit of getting a Samsung TV for any integration then that would be good to know.

I've got a 50 inch Panasonic LCD bought last year and its utterly fantastic. Lets me stream content very easily which I love.
