Outlook/GMail calendar sync

With the death of Google Sync next month I am trying to find a way to get my Outlook calendar in to Google. Here is where I am:

If I simply forward a meeting invite in to Google, everything is peachy.
If I use a rule to autoforward incoming calendar invites, when it arrives in GMail I am unable to do anything with the attachment.

I have also created a script to forward and exactly the same issue.

Any clues?

Wait-what?

I've been using Google Calendar Sync for years, it's a discontinued program but it works great as it is.

There's a couple of paid ones that have more functionality though.

Yup apparently they are going to stop it from working. We are already seeing this on some installs.

I thought they closed it to new accounts last year ? Please can you post a source for your info. ?

Oh - you mean the official Windows<->Google sync software ? Yup. Terminates on 1st August.
