Yes, downloaded and running it. Looks 'flatter'. Quite a lot of the cool things are going to be linking to the iPhone and although I have iOS 8 on there I can't get them to talk to each other.

I have the beta, just need to install it on my separate USB3 key rather than my OS drive.

Really very excited about Cloud Drive and Continuity, although unfortunately I can't really test those unless I also joined the iOS Developer Programme to get iOS8.

You can pay 99p on eBay for someone to add your IMEI to the beta program and download iOS 8.

is it possible to install it onto an external usb hdd? I have the invitation from Apple to download, but don't really want to compromise my quite new imac.

Have it running on my mac.

Only have one issue so far with the editing of photos in iPhoto . The photo is garbled when clicking the edit button.

It does seem flatter and everything wants to open full screen which is irritating.

Don't have ios8 on the ipad or phone so cannot comment of those features yet.

Thanks! Might do that, but since it is my main phone, I may think twice. If I did, and upgraded the Cloud Drive, it would be a oneway move.

Yes, you can, I have it on a USB key now (32GB sandisk), you do have to go into the recovery mode and change the boot drive afterwards though so you can get back into your Mavericks install.
