Anybody received this update yet? Got a 3 branded Lumia 1020 & had nothing through as of yet.

Just wondered if anybody else had received it yet? I know you can do a manual 8.1 update off the developers site, but this doesn't include the Lumia cyan firmware update.

Yep, came through last night, but didn't have enough space left on my 925 to download it. Done now, and so far it is a good update.

There are some very noticeable differences, such as the screen when a call comes in, far more functions available. and I am hoping there is something that will allow me to assess different volumes for different applications. That is one thing that winds me up!

Since loading the Facebook page app, the notification alerts annoy me, but having turned them off...my alarm doesn't work! Same with FB...because I get the messages in with the text messages having a conversation on the pc using the message facility means the phone is constantly bleeping!

Oh and wouldn't it be good that when the phone rebooted it didn't send the volume back to 13!

If you are presently on the Developer Preview for 8.1 you MUST downgrade to 8.0 before Cyan will appear. However once you've got Cyan installed I don't think you can go back to DP 8.1 again. This is due to MS putting the brakes on the Developer Preview releases as there is an issue with 8.1 when combined with Bitlocker (Which affects customers who have implemented this through their corporate MDM policy).

Also be careful that if, like me, you have a Hong Kong (et al) variant of the phone, you won't see the update yet due to the release schedule being region dependant (Changing your region on your phone won't help, it's hard coded to the phone).

I'm toying with the idea of downgrading but is sounded like a lot of faff. I need more feedback from Cyan users as to whether it's worth doing, or wait for MS to fix this issues and allow the Cyan upgrade while 8.1 DP is in play.

You can check on the status for your phone model/provider from the link below

http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-updat...

Mine (1020 on 3) show as still being under testing.

Got the 925 update last week.

I like bits, (clear tiles, more live tiles as per the 1520 etc) and don't like others.

Particularly the integration seems to be less, I used to be able to either txt or chat through Facebook for example within the SMS application. This is no longer possible.

It's also buggy IMO. I personally don't like notification windows, so disable all notifications within them, It's not an OS centric thing BTW, I turn them off on iOS and Android. (I fail to see the point in them seeing as the live tiles & lockscreen notify me of stuff, it just adds an unnecessary step).

However if I disable notifications in the notification window, it stops ALL notification sounds.

I've also had the volume stop responding. pressing volume up/down caused the slider to move, but it had zero effect on the earpiece volume.

I have the feeling MS have dropped the ball slightly with this release to get it out.

I downloaded onto my Lumia 625. Haven't noticed anything different yet, but doesn't seem to have broken anything either. Anyone know when we get Siri-sorry-Cortana? Will that be another mahoosive download?

Wish they'd hurry up. Want to see what it's like on my 1020 so I can decide whether to sell it or the Xperia Z2 grumpy

Within the next two weeks. There shouldn't be anything large to download, as your phone already has Cortana if you're on 8.1 (You just need to switch your region and languages to the USA to turn it on).

EE is still testing it on the 920, by the time it finally comes out proper on the 920 It'll probably be upgrade time for me.

I'm happy with the Developer version anyway, makes a world of difference and is a big improvment over 8.0.

lumia 625 updated about 10 days ago and so far it's been fine. few nice little touches but nothing massively different.

i do have one question though;

in the upper left corner, next to the signal icon is a new icon. a box with 3 horizontal lines, like a business card? what is that about and what do i need to do to make it go away / what does it do?

It's to tell you that you have unread notifcations. Pull down the notification bar from the top to see them.
