New MacBook Pro
Discussion
I am looking to buy a new MacBook Pro to replace my 5 year old white MacBook that has ground to a halt.
Am looking to future proof it as much as possible. Should I
A) upgrade the ram to 16gb from the standard 8gb
B) upgrade the processor to the I7 from the standard i5.
Both upgrades cost similar amounts. Typically will be using it for PowerPoint and excel (some 20mb+ models) and usual iPhoto etc...
Many thanks in advance

I am using the new macbook pro 13" retina, i7, 16gb with 1TB ssd..... it rocks!. The 15" was just slightly too big for my intended use.
I believe that you can change the ssd out later, so by the time that you fill a 512gb the 1TB will probably be a cheap upgrade rather than buying up front. However I use a lot of VMs and needed the space.

I haven't taken it apart but I believe the ram and processor are soldered and not upgradeable but the ssd is on a pci bus/socket.
