Any recommendations with links if possible
Bought a basic "vintage leather" lookalikey to put me on but its a bit naff
The genuine apple ones are about the most I want to pay - £35ish but I don't like the fact the front is exposed that much

I use the Otterbox cases everytime i buy a new phone. Either the Commuter or Defender cases are the best. The Defender is pretty bulky though so the Commuter is the best for pocket use.
Can be found for around £11 to £15 if you look around on the net.

Have a life proof one for the wife's 5s after she smashed her 4s screen. Also have one for the iPad. expensive, but worth every penny.

I haven't bothered with a case or screen protectors for a few years now. Neither has swmbo. Phone was designed and looks much better without it.

Phones have dropped on concrete several times. Couple of marks here and there but more importantly less than the scuffs and dust pricks a cover puts on.

The 5S colour hides marks very well btw.

Worst case scenario is a replacement for around £150 at the Apple Store.

Around £20. I bought a couple direct from their site and they were here in 4 days.

They are an excellent case and can take serious abuse. My wife has put her phone through the drop test more than a few times biggrin

these are good, I've got one on my 5 and the other half has one on her 5s

They also have an outlet on eBay

I've put otterbox cases through some serious hell and they've always been brilliant. No reason to try anything else though I've heard griffin survivor stuff is great - young 'un has one on his iPad and it seems just as good.

I had an Otterbox and it was completely indestructible but it's pretty damn bulky and takes away from the slim design of the iphone. If you're accident prone get the Otterbox, if you want something to protect your phone from desktop scratches, look elsewhere.

Yup, I'd agree. I only use a case when I'm using it in places it's liable to get damaged, outdoors, garage etc. Otherwise my iphone stays unwrapped.

Nice one thank you can I ask is the leather "proper" leather or that PVU thing.
I must confess since first posting to having tried my vertical flip and found it unsuitable, bought a horizontal flip and that was totally naff looked cheap like placcy shoes and amazingly bought a rubbery sided black and transparent rear one for an i5 (it fits perfectly ) reduced to £2 at Asda ! Seen very similar at £10 plus at other places.
The official I phone 5s case is good but pricey and not sure about the tan one I saw.

It's leather - but a very odd leather.... I have had so many cases, but the one above is probably my favourite. It completely protects the phone but adds zero bulk.

Previously I had one of these:

Very high quality case and beautifully made.

£35 Max? You're mental? Mine cost £2 including shipping, came with a free screen protector, and makes my phone look like an old school Gameboy hehe
