This looks interesting.

http://www.knowyourmobile.com/blackberry/blackberr...

I can't abide virtual keyboards but my trusty HTC Desire Z is on it's way out. The usual free upgrade on my contract could pay for something a bit more useful... Maybe real keyboard phones are not dead yet?

Anyone paid any interest to this? It's due out in a month!

It'll probably be a brilliant business communications device; I've found my iPhone to be pretty lousy for email - screen too small, on screen keyboard sucks.

But it is a company supplied device and I'm doubtful that we'll have any sort of BB offered when I'm up for renewal. Everything is moving to iOS, Android and WP.

Good battery life but what a stupid form factor. How will that fit in my pocket?

I've spent too much money on phones recently so I've committed myself to this Sony for a while.

However I'd love to go back to BB10 as I find it far better than Android, so this will be worth a look at some point.

Is it just me who thinks that keyboard is going to be a pain to operate while holding it?

Trying to use it single handed will be nigh on impossible.

I thought that was the whole reason there was a gap at the bottom of my old blackberries, so you had useable space to operate.

Im getting one soon on a pre-release from Blackberry because of my position at work, I cant wait to get my hands on it, will seem a shame to swap my Trusty Z30, hasnt missed a beat since ive had it, best battery life on the market too.

When i get my hands on it ill show you all what its about smile (assuming im allowed to under NDA lol..)

Poor Blackberry frown

Used to be soo good, and this is what they're reduced to. It's like watching one of your friends turn into an alcoholic and piss himself at the bus stop

I went with a Q10 last time around and the handset is great. Buttons, lovely buttons.

But BB10 - oh dear god, what a pile of st. SMTP issues (unresolved and not understood by BB), lousy battery life (although I can swap in a fully charged spare F.U. Apple!) and the longest boot up time since the Space Shuttle.....

I had a play with a Nexus 5 the other day. Never had Android before but thinking this will be my next handset.

I had blackberries for years and loved them. I have an iPhone now but I'm seriously considering going back.. The Q10 looks great to my eyes and I love the keyboards. Have I gone utterly mad? Having a look around for other handsets with a keyboard doesn't exactly present many options... Only really use the phone for the usual stuff, and not a massive amount.

Thoughts? For the sake of £100 for a secondhand handset?

With the promotion of byod, blackberry is doomed. I get the fondness for the button keyboard but it makes no financial sense to provide a phone when the user already has a capable device.

I would love to see a smartphone with a slide-out keyboard like the old Psion series 5.

My desire Z is being sorely missed. The number of times I've accidentally spelled out "virtual keyboards are slow, clumsy and a st fad for dumb masses" on my backup Desire X is becoming embarrassing..

Probably another outstandingly good handset that none of us will buy and will be knocked out at £150 6 months after launch.

I bought a Z10. It was excellent.
The operating system is immeasurably better than ios or Android.

On the fence regarding whether to get the passport or classic- it will be one of them. Classic details are thin on the ground still.

The q10 and z10 were utter crap so i went back to my 9700 pretty rapidly

Interesting, we had a couple of demo devices and they were generally hated (you have to give these things some time though).

The Z10 I had for a couple of weeks was ok, but imho in no way better than android, a lot less support and the battery was plain dreadful. As good a device as it might have been, if it doesn't last the day it's as useful as a brick.
