My Nokia Lumia(?) 520 had an accident this weekend so I'm looking for a replacement. I want to steer clear of Windows if possible as I just don't get on with it and the app store is severly lacking at the moment. Does anybody have any suggestions as to a budget smartphone? I'm looking to spend around £200 and use it for calls, texting, twitter and facebook etc.

Thanks

For under £200 i would only be thinking of a Moto G 4G.

Happy to recommend the THL above. It's a £500+ phone at just over £150.

Looks like either the Moto G or the THL then!
iPhone is being disregarded as I will be getting the new iPhone in Dec/Jan hopefully.

Shame you missed out on this:

Got one on Saturday, much better than the Galaxy S4 it has replaced (although the Galaxy S4 was much better than the Moto G it replaced!).

Moto G is ok for the money but I realised I couldn't live with the awful camera quality.

Just bear in mind that the Facebook client on Android is utterly useless ste.

This popped up on my Facebook today.. Moto G for £90 on Vodafone. I think you can get unlock codes on eBay for about £2.

£90 Moto G on Amazon

I found it equally unstable on my 4S. I use the mobile site on both biggrin.

As for the OP, Moto G.

On my 4S it is unstable and when it does work it gives you a randomised new feed.

Is the above link safe to buy the THL from? I've seen them on Amazon for about £190 - is it worth spending the extra and buying via them?

Thanks

New Asus Zenphone 5 might be worth a look:

Isn't that dual-sim?

Have you tried that feature?

Would the dual sim be an issue?

No, but you're probably paying extra for that capability.

I'm actually interested as to how well the dual sim works on this phone as I'd like to get one myself.

The dual sim works fine.
Both Sims can send and receive calls but you only use the data con on sim 1.
