I am after the Nokia Lumia 730

Its a dual SIM phone which is not going to be released in the UK but will be in other parts of Europe

Firstly is there any issues with buying a non UK phone for day to day use in the UK (aside from the charger). I presume that it will have english language on the phone!

Secondly, anyone know a decent Gemran mobile phone seller that will ship abroad?

European availability:

Azerbaijan
Czech Republic
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Poland
Russia
Slovakia
Ukraine

Possibly Amazon.de.

They ship to the UK roughly 50% of the time. I've never been able to figure what determines their willingness to ship.

If you buy it from Germany, you'll have to call it a "handy"...

Can't put it in a pocket in Germany - needs to be attached to your belt with a belt clip.

run the model though idealo.de and then you should see all the electronics sellers. The bigger ones should ship to the uk like

hardwareversand
meinepaket
hausofhardware

etc
etc

On the technical side of this, no there's no problem. My Nokia 1520 is a Hong Kong edition as it was £100 cheaper! It will have location based languages installed by default (Mine had the Chinese keyboard for instance) but the first time you turn the Nokia on, it should be in English and will ask you to choose your language as part of the setup. Ensure that you remove all German bits from the languages and keyboard settings after install. If the phone thinks it's Germany, you won't get Cortana!

You are correct about the charger, but you can pretty much use any other USB based charger instead.

Finally, be careful that your warranty may not be valid here. I'm pretty certain that these are region specific so attempts to get a free repair from Nokia UK in the case of a warranty issue is unlikely.

Hope this helps!
