I'm holding off updating my 4S and iPad2. I don't want to slow them down anymore. In fact, I've not read about any of the new features and thought "I have to have that" so may not update at all.

I'm still interested to read about others experiences of ios8 on the same devices as me though.

My 4S is on iOS 8 and it's great. Nice and speedy, everything seems to be working fine. 😀

Have you updated from IOS7? Is it an improvement from that?

Does anyone know how to turn off the 'frequently visited' sites in Safari? I know you can delete them but I can't see a way to stop them from appearing in the first place.
I would also like to know this for err...... No reason.

You could use Chrome and use the Incognito Browsing option.....that's what I have been told anyway. No need for it myself.....

Hi, yes I have updated from ios7, it feels smoother and some nice useful features.
I was a bit sceptical at first, would it slow down ect but it's fine.

Agreed.

iOS7 never felt good on the 4S, but iOS8 seems to run pretty sweet on it so far.

Updated my iPad air yesterday and now web pages just hang for about a minute, getting slower and slower, nightmare... iOS7 was okay, wish I could go back to 7.

I'm with you - other than being the aforementioned ability to answer my phone on my iPad, it's a st upgrade.

It ran great on my 5, 5c and iPad Air. Definite improvement over 7 once all the apps had completed their updates as well that is.

I did like the new wave charge function, very handy

Well done.

For the avoidance of doubt; don't do this.

I don't get why I'd want to do that!

I spend hours on my iPad replying to emails.

Being able to answer short calls and then carry on as normal is great.

Especially as my phone spends most of its time plugged into the wall.

Safari seems pretty slow on my iPad2. I'd previously given up on Chrome on the iPad because Safari was so much snappier, but now they seem about the same. Other than that, I haven't noticed much difference between iOS7 and 8 so far.

You should have put some smileys !
I would like to think no one on here would be stupid enough BUT after reading some of the "advice" offered in other threads I think the chances are it could catch someone out. Whether or not such a person is too stupid to have a SMART phone is open to question

Obviously Wave is a hoax

Didn't a load of fools put there iPhones into water after a similar hoax with IOS 7?

You can see why the Nigerians persist with their dodgy emails.

I upgraded a 32gb 4S from iOS7 to 8 and so far it seems good, slightly faster if anything (didn't have major problems with 7 myself, although a little slow). It opens up from the lock screen noticeably quicker, I don't need to delay between unlocking the phone and selecting the app I need.

Anyone know how to find the battery usage screen? The macrumors link says it's in settings somewhere but I can't find it.

Tips app seems pointless, and a shame they don't allow it to be deleted.

Haven't used iCloud drive, as not having Yosemite worried me, apparently I can't view photos on my mac until that's upgraded?

Not impressed with the predictive text box above the keyboard. It was there before for Japanese which I also write in, and is genuinely useful, but for English, it just seems pointless having 3 words at the top and doesn't really speed things up.

Passbook picked up my BA flight (using the BA app) from 2 weeks ago. I guess it would be useful for frequent fliers across different carriers, but otherwise I can't see the advantage over using the BA app alone.

Having Shazam in Siri is nice, lets me get rid of the Shazam app, but I tend to use SoundHound more anyway as it picks songs up better I've found.

Health app looks like it's got potential, mainly for the future I guess when more things integrate with it. I wish Sleep Cycle could input data to it as I've used that a lot and have tonnes of data from it.

Don't really use Safari as I find Chrome better previously, but might give it a shot again.
