I just realised that I don't have room for the upgrade on my IPone 5. I guess I should have gone for the 32GB.

I'm off to the states at the weekend so may upgrade the phone there.
If you connect it via iTunes on your computer you don't need available space to upgrade the iOS.

Thank you. I'll try that.

I was just about to do this when I thought - surely this will eat up more memory on the phone so I cannot add more photo's, music or apps etc? At the moment I am at 10.4 GB used with 2.9 available.

The space is required for the upgrade to process, not used by the system software once the upgrade is installed..

Having upgraded the company iPhone5s (just to stop it from telling me I can). The only differences I have noticed are:
Some random health app.
Now when typing and it suggests a word, and I tap that word, it actually uses that word. Which I presume is SwiftKey?

No, swiftkey is a standalone app on the app store. The word suggestion thing is just a new feature with the standard keyboard.

PMSL!

Just sent a text, used that new fancy predictive thing, put a 'kiss' at the end of the message ie: an 'x' and the predictive came up with "xhamster"

I'll have to be careful not to tag that on the end of every message to the wife!

Anyone know how to copy an image URL in Safari? I was able to copy an image and paste the URL with ios7 but that doesn't work any more.

Seems to suggest it might solve why I couldn't upload an image via Thumbsnap to post in a thread on PH the other night. Will give it a whirl.

Might not be a good idea to put 8.0.1 on a 6 or 6plus.

Seems to be lots of people on twitter reporting problems with no phone signal and touchID problems

Yup. Happened to me. No touch I'd and no signal. Friend with a 6 has the same issue.

I requested the download to my iPhone.
Then I read that it breaks phones.
Great.

You know it learns from your typing.

Mine has become a brick and now has ceased working saying it's not eligible to be used at all frown

Holding for Apple Support as I write.

For those of you who have installed the update the suggestion is a restore via iTunes to get the phone working again. The update has been pulled so I hope it will be sorted before it's available again!

Seems as though iPhone users are being advised to see if they can restore iOS 8.0.1 via iTunes, so see if iTunes can still recognise your device.

Mines in the kitchen, I kicked off the update half an hour ago.
I'm scared to go look.
