Just tried to do it. Does it really need 4.7gb out of my measly 16gb iPhone 5?!
Plug it into iTunes and download it from there.

Needs 4.7gb of storage. I don't even have enough for space for another U2 album.
Wonder if the download comes with a U2 album "baked into the system"?

It would appear I now have 4G on my iPhone 5 which I didn think was possible. When I turn on the auto photo uploader in Dropbox it crashes.

Both my iPhone 5 and Retina iPad Mini are now on iOS 8. Didn't bother trying to pull anything down for a few hours. Well that and half of the Plusnet network seemed to go down!

Took longer to install than it did download in the end.

Luckily I've been using ios8 for the past few months but went to download it on my 5s 64gb and I had to free up a further 3gb on the 2 that I had spare. Was quite a struggle. So I'll wait until tomorrow to do the update now.

Apart from the new keyboard I can't really see any difference. Nothing game changing just catching up with android. The keyboard was the only thing I liked about android, now it's on the iPhone and iPad happy days.

Its currently 2/3rds of the way through the progress bar on the black screen with white apple logo, so it better be done soon!

Mail is much better with tabs for open items and copying and pasting from other messages while editing one. That was always painful and now quite easy.

God why did I start this before I wanted to go to bed

Now looking at yet another slowly moving progress bar, and that's after "Slide to Upgrade"

Slave to tech...

My iPad seems a bit 'notchy' and it shouldn't as its a relatively new Air.

Iphone 5 seems ok

The 4S has downloaded the update (during which it rebooted 3 times). It has now been at the "preparing update" status for about an hour.

iOS updates on this thing have never been that fast ...

5S, downloaded and installed at various points overnight. Being patient with it, and not trying to rush will help - as usual!

Two existing apps aren't playing ball (Searching Alpha and Audible) but that's the developers problems.

Just starting to notice how things are different, set up family sharing, playing with health app and very first impression was nothing changed, next impression is that the keyboard change can be useful, Mail changes look good although you can imagine being in a hurry and getting frustrated with the flag and delete next door. The sight awaiting you from a swipe up looks somewhat clunky - which was a slight shock.

Of course, for those who suddenly notice battery not lasting as well, it has defaulted to putting Bluetooth on whether you wanted it or not, but most will probably be awake to those types of Apple quirk! hehe

Just noticing that the keyboard really starts to dominate the screen - hence obviously the sudden appeal of 6 and 6+ real estate! Notices when you can't see what you're typing in the PH reply box. So I'll probably end up typing more rubbish than usual!!! biggrin

Overall, it "feels" good so far!

I have an iPad air for demonstrating apps, should I update it or hold off 'till they fixed all the initial bugs?

I won't be "updating" my 4S, short of dropping it in a bucket of water, installing iOS7 was probably the worst thing I could have done to it.

Yup, one of the reasons I came back to iOS.
