I have the answer but you won't listen so I won't share. I can tell you though that it's user error.
User errir?

I guess its user error causing the crashes aswell lol

Ive spent 30 mins looking for a distinctive colored app on ipad.
I had to go via itunes and delete there and reinstall.

Not user error.
Probably is, for your 20 years in IT you clearly can't operate an apple device or iTunes. You then updated prior to checking what was in the update and your refusing to listen to advice instead you just blame the product. Like earlier you jumped on here with a new post complaining and then found the solution yourself. It's not hard technology to use.

I completely understand that it doesn't meet your eyesight issues but you could at least listen to our advice on the other issues instead of knocking the kit or software.

Does the extra size not just come from the bar that shows the predictions?

I hated it as it took up some of the reply box space. Turned it off and it seems fine to me now.
Not all of the size but yes some of it. It does robe the 5 mm bar but the keypad I'm sure is bigger.

Also who thought it was a good idea to have the back arrow dissapear when you scroll down

So now scroll down see what you wanted now want to just press back oh you can't you now have to do an extra action.

If people are having issues with WiFi this supposedly fixes it :

Go into Settings, select Privacy, then Location Services, followed by System Services, where you'll want to disable Wi-Fi Networking.

This doesn't turn your Wi-Fi off, it just disables a setting that seems to be getting in the way of normal connection speeds. And some users on the forums said this has helped things get back to normal. Others said just resetting their networking settings gave some relief.

(Not my text btw, copied from here http://bit.ly/1pbP7VR)
Thanks for the help but nope. Still taking around a minute sometimes a lot more sometimes a bit less to open every page.

I'll check out that link see if there is anything else be back in 15 minutes.

Not IOS's fault, but the Barclays mobile banking app does not work with IOS8! Bloody Barclays! I seem to recall the same thing happening last year with IOS7!
Which is why its always worth holding off updating unless you have too.
No choice with a new 6!

You truly are an unpleasant little person.
Now go have a go at someone else.

Apparantly an ipad freezing or crashing 30 times is down to my user error according to you.

I have offered advice and links on the firum.
So bugger off.

According to you, since i stated i had 20 years in it, i should go off and write an app for a new keyboard.

Now if you have something against me oersonally i find that very sad.

Your advice doesnet cober the issues.
Go look on the internet at all the other people having problems.
Most sites reccomend not installing on ipad 2.

So i did tne sensible thing and rolled back.

Just ignore him others on here are being helpful.

For the record I have tried everything suggested on here.

I have also now completely turned off location services and done another hard reset still the Internet is unusable.

Problem is this is a work iPad i use for doing expenses ( most important) and other work related tasks. I've just tried to use them and they won't work .

Hopefully Apple will get some bug fixes going quickly. Wonder how they missed these issues in testing.

As I finished that I noticed something else and pressed edit. look at the time of this edit and the original post frown anyway.

Why have they moved the book icon thing to the left and the square with an arrow to the right. Apart from annoy users who are used to where they are is there a good reason?

I upgraded to iOS 8 and... shock horror, it all works fine and quite speedy on my bargain basement 5C smile

But... I can't seem to pull text messages down on the screen like you could in iOS 7!

For clarity, what I mean is, when you are typing a message and it gets so long that it fills the screen, you used to be able to swipe down to see the message you are replying to and scroll up and down, but it won't seem to do that anymore!

I will be gutted if you can't do that anymore because I used it all the time!

Anyone help? Am I missing something?

I apologise if I've made you feel that way. I realise I've come across as a bit of an arse but I have tried to help its nothing against you personally.

I did not state the crashing was user error, I was stating that your syncing issues regarding the apps leaving folders and so on was a user error.

As to the crashing multiple times I offered a solution for you to try but you never mentioned if you had tried it. Unfortunately your now back to iOS7 so I can't assist.

The suggestion about the keyboard is a genuine one, it sounds like you've got a problem and you know the solution, that to me sounds like a brilliant opportunity to create an app or find someone who can to not only help yourself but everyone else who is in your shoes, I didn't mean for it to come across as a rude statement.

I know other people are having issues on the internet but on the 2 ipad2's that I'm running they have none of these symptoms so it's not a universal fault.

For me the issue is that a lot of Apple users don't have the tech savvy to deal with the problems caused by an upgrade.

Apple market their products as being for the "not tech savvy", to be fair.

It shouldnt really be like this though should it.
If this had been a release of software into production at a financial insituation in rhe city, would this have gone down well?

Its basically a one button process to uograde.
A one button orocess to roll back would be nice, rather than trawling the net looking for answers, etc.

Its been a frustrating exoerience.
I feel that system testing has been done by the public.

A lot of people imimagine use an ipad because its simpler than a pc.
But i only got out of ios 8 by using a pc, the eeb and itunes.

And that's what I like about them, after getting the parents a mac then iPads suddenly I no longer get phone calls from them asking how to do something or there's a virus. Dad was the biggest problem he decided he wanted an android tablet and all he did was swear at it and moan that it wasn't like an iPad. We soon convinced him to change.

Exactly the kind of people who aren't going to investigate updates before installing them, I'd have thought.

Mums got quite tech savy since getting her iPad a few years ago so she likes to update straight away. Fortunately I've had the beta software the last few years so can advise her on wether to update or not. As for dad he wouldn't know where to look to update in the first place.

People hate progress because invariably for some it doesn't work or suit.

At least with Apple you can go into an Apple Store even if not convenient. No such choice with android r kindle etc.

I've mentioned iCloud and nobody has said if they are using it who have problems.

iPad 2, iPad mini, iphone 5 and iPhone 6 all working fine here.

Bit more room on the screen when the top bar disappears.

You don't have to flick the screen up to get it back, you just tap the bar - no big problem, especially given your other issues.

For me, on an iPad air, everything is now working flawlessly and I really like a few of the extra touches.

The more I use it the more it is becoming second nature like iOS7 was.

It needs people like us to upgrade right away because if everyone held off they wouldn't get fixes out so quickly.

Appreciate everyone's frustrations and hope it's sorted sooner rather than later for you.

Had the displeasure of that overly complicated and customisable piece of crap for a work phone. Sent it back and changed it for a £60 Lumia.

Yes those are no big deal. I'll get used to it. Just wondering why that's all. I'd rather have a lightening conector that lasted more than a fortnight, actually I'd rather they just used micro USB.

Hopefully some fixes will be out soon . I'm not upgrading the work phone.

I think this iPad mini was never the fastest anyway. It must have a slower processor I'm guessing than a full size iPad?

I'm not sure on the differences tbh, but may be the case.

I'm with you on the cables though, very flimsy and I've replaced a couple after waking up to find phone hadn't charged overnight because the cable is damaged and has to be at a certain angle.
