I have recently built up my pc but having some trouble with my monitor set up.

I currently have 2 identical 32" Tv's, i wish to use both in a dual monitor set up but i just cannot get the second monitor to work. at best i got it working but at 1080 resolution it was centred in the screen and it doesnt stretch to the outside.

My motherboard has 3 outputs, VGA, DVI-D and HDMI,
Monitor 1 is currently connected by VGA to VGA and works perfectly at 1080p,
Monitor 2 i tried HDMI to HDMI, this is where trouble starts, I cant get it to fit the screen, I tried changing aspec ration on my tv, There is a zoom setting but it then cuts off the edge of the screen.
I tried using a DVI-D adapotor to VGA on 2nd monitor but that didnt work at all,

From searching the internet mainly people have been fixing this by ati catalyst control centre, But as i am using onboard graphics it doesnt come up with any of the settings i need. Im starting to get annoyed with ordering cables and adapters that arent helping anything.

Anyone ideas?

Get a proper graphics card. Doesn't have to be a high-spec gaming one, just something that can properly handle dual screen output. Onboard graphics are usually heavily compromised, intended for low-cost machines that only ever display a desktop and a couple of browser windows, mail apps etc.

The Gigabyte spec specfically states that will not work.

Are you running the latest ATI 3000 drivers and utilities

On a related topic, you may be disappointed running 32" TV's as monitors.

They look ok from TV viewing distance, but sat up close "monitor" style the pixels are going to be quite visible. Text especially is likely to be soft / jagged.

Not fitting the screen on HDMI / DVI is an overscan issue.

Either the display driver needs to be set to overscan or the TV/monitor needs to be put in PC mode is available.

I thought that'd be an issue when I started using one, but tbh it works pretty well. Certainly can't see pixels at my normal viewing distance (2-3 ft)

I will agree that my smaller 24" monitor looks better quality wise, but it cost similar to the TV anyway, and the larger screen is really nice if I want to watch films from the other side of the room.

Text being soft or jagged would only happen with erroneous settings on either the TV or the graphics card.

For the OP, try changing the TV aspect ratio/look for 'PC' setting somewhere in the menus - sometimes TVs will centre and significantly shrink the image in certain aspect ratios.

I run a 42" plasma for my monitor - it's quality is superb. Having two would be awesome!

Good luck getting them to work OP, I think I'd go for a decent graphics card rather than on-board graphics.
