I currently have an old O2 (sim only) traiff which has unlimited data, or so they say !

Last month is was streaming a lot of music at work and in the car, when i hit 4gb they stopped all of my data. Not a happy bunny as they did not inform me just cut it.

I spoke to them that evening to be told its a fair use policy that has been in place for sometime (but after the contract started). This is a hard limit of 4gb.

So time to move, I have been looking around an 3 has all you can eat. It is any good ?

Thanks

EE is really expensive. Three have good data limits and are comparably cheap.

Three is fantastic. Even got to use unlimited data (and the texts & minutes) when I was in the States recently, for no additional charge.

amateur biggrin.
Three is superb for those who get network reception. A friend of mine didn't so had to cancel. On the other hand I have never had a problem. I use it constantly usually hitting around 50GB upwards (had a few 120GB months too) no extra charge than my standard one plan tariff, which allows tethering. I even use it to tether my ps3 so I can play online, a much better connection than my sky broadband and no lag on call of duty smile. I would say go for it.

I'm in the same situation; O2 but currently a few months into a new house and area with 4g coverage. Down side is hitting the buffers earlu and then having to shut data down.

I was considering GiffGaff but their 4G has a 1Gb limit which is no better than O2, just cheaper. Their fora (forums?) suggest unlimited 4g ain't going to happen and they don't have anything larger than 2Gb.

3 seem like they gave coverage in my area and the prices are reasonable especially given 4g is included. Might give them a go.

I had exactly the same issue.

I had been with 02 for about 9 years, 5 years of which were on "Simplicity" with unlimited internet, I had an iPhone 3GS at the time which I used to take the simcard out of and put into my O2 Stella so I could USB tether. After a few months got a letter saying I wasnt allowed to tether so I stopped doing that.

I then started using Youtube and Streaming services more and started getting alot of letters saying I was using it to much. After alot of argument with O2 about my "unlimited" account I moved to Three. One plan with unlimited internet including tethering.

Have never looked back! I use around 4-8gb each month.

I streamed about 16 hours of HD Le Mans off Eurosport a couple of years ago through Three, without a blip. It's just great knowing that someone isn't going to slap you with a big bill or cut you off.

Be careful to pick the right tariff. I think you want the "One Plan". I pay £20 for a 12 month SIM only contract and just use my own phone.

Move and don't look back.

Think if I'm in town at the weekend I'll be picking up a sim.

Also, don't see a reference to the One Plan, you now get sim only deals that cover 600mins and 'All you can eat' data / texts that includes 4G http://www.three.co.uk/Store/SIM/Plans_for_phones

Definitely worth paying the £100 to get out of my current O2 contract as it's doing my nut.

Yup I just followed the link you provided and it appears they've removed the "One Plan" reference, though it is still present in the marketing when you go for the phone.

It also looks like the price has gone up! But the second one from the bottom is the one to go for.

Mine wanted to get me onto a £50 a month 24 month contract - always kept mine to 12 months in the past and paid a bit to get the latest phone but prices getting silly now. Was supposed to be due an upgrade but worked out far less to buy the handset myself and go sim only. 5mb data and unlimited texts and calls on EE for £11 a month and keep my number on a 12 month contract and I'll just buy a decent handset or keep the HTC One which is working fine and treat it to a new battery for £8.99.

EE really piss me off with their data plans.

£5 for 1GB or £15 for 10GB... both of which expire at your monthly roll-over date?

I believe Three are gradually introducing limits due to the rollout of 4g. They no longer offer unlimited tethering to new customers.

Did the fkers at Giff Gaff just change their plans?
Unlimited data was £12 and now it's gone up to £18?

Pretty much echo the statements above.

I was on O2, come renewal time I did some research. I'm now on a £36 a month contract, 600 minutes, unlimited texts/data with Three.

I have nothing but good things to say about Three (despite the rumours). I regularly abuse the crap out of my unlimited data (I've hit 80GB in a month before) and never had any issues. Coverage is generally very good and I tend to use data at home over my wifi (better signal strength in the bath...). Not to mention their 'Feel at home abroad' deal, which is great considering it's free.

10/10, would recommend.
