Oh dear.....Looks my hudl will be going back for a replacement. Im suffering the 100% battery issue. I took if of charge and was browsing for a hour and the battery was still showing 100%. Put it on charge and the light went green(not charging) and refused to charge. Seem a common problem and its a replacement unit you get.
Anyone tried rooting theirs yet? I'm stuck on the bit where you get into fastboot mode, but the fastboot utility can't detect the device
ETA never mind, for some reason 'fastboot detect' doesn't list the device but was still able to root the device
Now got proper adblocking, native SMB server, firewall, secure proxying etc. etc.

We currently have £55 of tesco vouchers and with the boost offer, the hudle 2 is going to cost me nothing. The boost offer is also on accessories too.
I've had an iPad 1 for a few years now and it really is showing its age now. It's fairly heavy and slow.
From what I have read on this thread, it appears to be a good buy. Only want it for watching tv and films on the train as well as a bit of web surfing and google docs work.
A new iPad is going to cost me £280-300 minimum, so this is am bit of a no brainer!

Try running it down to switch off, then charge. Seemed to work for me IIRC.I have the Tesco Bluetooth keyboard/case with mine. The keyboard's presence (when set to operate) dulls the touch-screen function to the point that it almost seems not to work at all. For some functions the touch screen is still needed so it's a pain. Also, I enter passwords (bank, Amazon, etc) on the keyboard and they don't work. On the touch screen they do. Weird!

Tempted by one of these at £99, but not sure whether to hold out and spend a bit (lot) more on a Nexus 9. Replacing a 2012 Nexus 7 for sofa surfing.
I have a Hudl 2 to replace my 2012 N7 that was trashed by lollipop, I'm really pleased with it. The battery life isn't great, you need to remember to plug it in more often than the N7 but for the cost (and mine was £129) it's a steal. b19rak said:
Is there anyway to increase the resolution on these? Everything just seems a bit big.
You can change the font size in settings. It won't alter the size of icons etc though. I use Nova launcher which is much more customisable than the stock tesco launcher, some of the functions like icon resizing are only available in the paid version - allows you to get rid of the tesco widgets on one of the home screens and is far slicker in operation.

I've set it up using her account, but it's not downloading all the apps that she had on the Hudl1. I thought that happened automatically now. Is there something I need to do to make it work? I don't fancy looking through the Play Store at everything she's ever downloaded, and then working out which ones to redownload.
What the best (and preferably free) way of transferring stuff like game saves to hew new device? I'm guessing the apps won't automagically carry on with where she left off playing them on the Hudl1.

Just got my 80 yr old Dad a Hudl 2, can anyone recommend a remote control app for the inevitable support queries.
I read somewhere Teamviewer (which I already use for their PC) isn't compatible with the Hudl 2.
Thank you
I did the same for my 80yo Dad, but he really couldn't get along with the touch screen so I sold it on ebay for £104 and got him a small laptop instead.I read somewhere Teamviewer (which I already use for their PC) isn't compatible with the Hudl 2.
