Ordered mine last night. I went for the blue one Should be arriving at the local store tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to having a play with it. I'm coming form a rather ancient iPad 1, so I'm interested to see how I get on with it.
We ordered an iPad Air in January from Groupon and that was a complete disaster from start to finish. In fact, I don't think I'll risk buying anything above £50 from Groupon again. Their customer service was appalling. The Hudle isn't exactly a replacement for that failed iPad purchase, but it means I can watch TV on the train with a decent sized screen

Well I've had a play with the Hudl and so far I'm quite impressed. It feels nice in the hand and the screen quality is leagues ahead of my old iPad. It does feel quite heavy for its size and I can see the next one becoming slimmer and hopefully lighter.
Haven't got all the apps set up yet, but for basic web surfing and e-mail, it seems fine. Going to try and load some films on it later on tonight.
I know there is a stigma regarding a tesco branded tablet, but at the moment, I don't have anything to complain about

The
iPad Air nicer, yes, but is 3x the price. IMHO, if I'm spending that kind of money, it would have to be Surface Pro 3 or presumably impending 4.

As long as people accept what it is/isn't, for the money & vouchers it is more than acceptable. Does appear to be an own brand LG tab, which is OK.Haven't got all the apps set up yet, but for basic web surfing and e-mail, it seems fine. Going to try and load some films on it later on tonight.

Has anyone else's Hudl 2 started forgetting the time? Mine on automatic is randomly out by hours and it looses time when set manually.
It's a known bug but only affects certain devices. The last update was meant to sort that and a charging issue, but hasn't for all devices.Wee link for optimising the Hudl 2 to get the best out of it, he goes on to talk about using it for gaming, however the first part were he discusses installing a new launcher instead of the Tesco launcher, and deleting/disabling certain apps is the pertinent part - he basically gets rid of most things, but if you use some of the apps then leave them keep them.
Makes a noticeable difference to the smoothness of the device compared to Tesco's choppy launcher and unmoveable widgets - does nowt to improve the poor battery life though

I appreciate that its geared at protecting it from toddlers and similar, but it really is just too thick and heavy. I swear its turned an 8in tablet into something that weighs nearly a kilo!
Thankfully, she kept the recipe, so I think we are going to send it back and I'll get something slimmer and ligher on Ebay.
Used it on the train this morning with out case to watch Dads Army on iPlayer

Oh dear.....Looks my hudl will be going back for a replacement. Im suffering the 100% battery issue. I took if of charge and was browsing for a hour and the battery was still showing 100%. Put it on charge and the light went green(not charging) and refused to charge. Seem a common problem and its a replacement unit you get.
Try running it down to switch off, then charge. Seemed to work for me IIRC.My Hudl has been fine (odd hiccup aside, see above) but my mum has been through 3 different Hudl 2s and every one has managed to get stuck at 100%. She only uses the stock Hudl charger and only has a few basic apps on the device (mine on the other hand gets charged randomly using any random USB-based charger, is rooted and loaded with as much crap as I can cram onto the device, yet hasn't seen this issue).

How can I move things from the device to the micro sd card to make more memory?
I've moved all that it let's me (the apps and games) but the device storage is still almost full so cannot install new games etc on it.
If just bought two 32Gb micro SD cards for this with the objective of saving all the SkyGo films and cartoons for my little one. I've moved all that it let's me (the apps and games) but the device storage is still almost full so cannot install new games etc on it.
Put it in tried to download but it kept saying its full. I worked out how you get to the detail of the apps and there is a button to "move to SD" but SkyGo is greyed out! Lots of other apps are not. So what's the issue?
I need 2x 32 GB and 2x 16Gb for a couple of weeks holiday overseas as once you have viewed anything on Sky go it deletes so load it up with lots of stuff happy days. Sadly this seems to be an utter nightmare.
What am I doing wrong?

Google have apparently also disabled the ability for apps to move items to the SD card. So to move all my pr0n (!!!) to my SD card means using the UTTERLY dire Android FIle Manager on OS X to manually move it. Previously I could copy paste with Astaro etc.
Might just boot an old windows laptop up instead.

Overall, still a bargain for the money, if you can live with the battery life & dimensions.
