Didn't want to clog up the main thread.

What cases have people gone for?

Specifically I'm quite interested in the genuine Apple leather case;

http://store.apple.com/us/product/MGR62ZM/A/iphone...

I had a nice tan genuine leather one for my 5 and loved it.

But also this looks quite good;

http://www.incipio.com/cases/iphone-cases/iphone-6...

I'm after something that'll protect it without ruining the feel/making it more bulky.

I got the Apple silicone case and like it a lot. Yes, it's very expensive and a little bulky but it feels really well made and I'm much happier using the phone with it as it's a very grippy finish (the bare phone is very slippery!).

Silicone one is £25 and leather is £35. If the leather one is the same as the one they brought out for the 5 then I think I'm probably already sold.

I have the Apple leather case on my 6, it's perfect - fits nice a snug, protects the screen corners and feels slim in your hand.

I'm glad I bought it.

LotusMartin, it sounds like it's exactly the same as the 5 variant.

Good news.

I don't do sleeves as the amount of answering the phone I do during the day just doesn't work for me.

I generally hate cases, but wifey and I have the Apple silicone ones. They're fine. I prefer the phone without it, but they do offer good protection (except the lower front edge which is exposed).

I think PH had a brain fart earlier as I posted this and it never appeared.

Anyway, if I had a 6 I would use the same kind of leather slip case I have on my phone, one like these - http://www.proporta.co.uk/iphone-6-leather-sleeve-...

Or the Snugg case - http://www.thesnugg.co.uk/smartphone-cases/apple/i...

Full front and rear protection with the bonus of handling the phone as it should be when out of the case and for dock charging.

I got a Verus Iron Shield shipped in from the US because the case choice is always miles better over there, and I'd see this one get good reviews. Got it on Amazon.com and it was free shipping. About £25 all in.

The amount of st quality cases I've bought and binned, I'd rather get something decent quality even if it's an arse to get hold of.

What is the protection like on that Spigen case Butter Face?

I have a 6 plus with the Apple leather case, it appears to be a well-made nice-fitting case but I don't think it offers a great level of protection for the phone corners.

Also - fairly easy to fit the Spigen case?

The protection is really good, solid band around the outside edge and rubber backed and sided behind the outer band.

Fits perfectly and you just fit the rubber bit then the outer band.

Ebay number 201150326094

Works out £21 delivered. Just ordered. Think it looks great. Went for gold as it should match what is seen through the rear hole.

I've got the Apple leather case on mine and I'm not convinced. Whilst it looks great and the brown leather is ageing nicely (patina?) it leaves the bottom edge exposed and isn't especially grippy. Silicone would address the grip issue, but it still leaves the bottom edge open. The problem I have is one of my cars has a lightning cable and one has the 30pin to lightning adapter. With my old iphone 5 and the genuine leather case I had to pop it out of the case each time I wanted to plug it in!

My wife has a habit of smashing iphones so she has an Otterbox Commuter, does what it intends to very well without adding too much bulk. The hard outer case isn't too grippy though. We also bought the Symmetry case as an interim and thats quite good too, very secure, not too bulky and passed the drop from waist height onto a hard floor test!

I'm tempted to get one of these AQUATIK cases to try to: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/taktik-360-aqua...

the 6 is pretty slim, so for me the case had to be something which retains that. Something that large can't be thick aswell, otherwise it would feel really unwieldy and big in the pocket. Clearly you need something which gives plenty of edge protection, and maybe you might want to consider something which also offers anti-bend strengthening. I am sure case vendors will jump all over this as a selling point soon.

When stock arrives in UK (or US shipping comes down a bit), I'll be going for the techarmor ballistic tempered glass front instead of stty bubbly sticker screen protectors which I hate with a passion (but am putting up with for the moment).

A good thread this.

I started a new two yr contract today, I was tempted by a Samsung s5 but have gone for the i6, all my of last three phones were Apple, the case that's appealing to me so far is this:

I put a case on my 5 after reading reports of how easily the anodised finish scratched. On taking it out of the case a couple of months later, I found that dirt/grit had worked it's way behind the phone and the back looked like it had been badly shot blasted.
Anyone got any tips on preventing this happening again?

i guess remove it and clean regularly, maybe every couple of weeks. It's a problem arising from the solution to a problem that only exists because manufacturers created it. First world problems, being at the mercy of these corporations. Try explaining it to an Amazonian indian.

I bought the Apple leather case for my 6, it's perfect - fits great, protects the screen corners, feels slim in your hand and is a good design, this also allows you to put the iPhone 6 on a dock without taking the case off unlike the Apple leather case on the 5.
