Has anyone else experienced issues with lightning cables and their case? Mine appears to have an adapter aperture that's ever so slightly too small to allow many (non Apple) cables to connect through. I've had to trim pointless plastic on those cables with a Stanley knife!

No, but I have found that my aux cable in my car wouldn't plug in without removing the case. Annoying!

Not with standard leads, but with the 30 pin to lightening adapters I use. I had to buy one with 2" of cable on to allow me to plug into my car.

I went for a basic plastic case. It certainly has taken a bit of damage !

I like a case but it has to be thin. I have the Apple silicon case which I think doesn't add much bulk but I wanted a book style case for my wife's phone. Most of the cases are thick at the back which interferes with the camera (the flash reflects off the case camera cut out and ruins the picture) but this one I found on Amazon has a thinner part where the camera is. They do other colours but this is the pink one:

Bargain at £8 and it is really well made. This photo shows the difference in thickness between the Apple case and the book cover, it only adds 2mm.
