Brings back memories of calls from my old dad . Fortunately he was a computer hater, though he did get his head round a programmable electronic typewriter. "What buttons can you see?"
"None"
"erm..."
He'd got two hobbies, his writings and his video collection. But every so often he'd press a wrong button on the remote and got a VCR message on the TV screen. the dealer was brilliant , and would send an apprentice out at no charge to sort things out, but as Glycoma and cataracts took hold , he hit more and more wrong buttons and felt embarrassed to ask the dealer for help. Eventually he phoned me for help. i downloaded the manuals and fortunately they were Panasonic, with the same pidgeon English as used in their Telecomms manuals, so understanding them was easy.
But back to the topic - why not look at Novatech and Aria bundles( and for old folks, would they need a super duper graphics card,or would an on board one suffice). Although ,a PSU upgrade might be needed .Again, if the CPU is not obsolete, then it's just MB and memory . My last upgrade had to be MB/MEMORY AND CPU as my CPU was obsolete. I went from a 2.8GHz AMD to a 2.5 GHz , but the increase in FSB speed made the new CPU lok like a rocket ,even with a drop in actual speed. The new board /CPU was 64bit compatible, making it run a lot faster/smoother.

Install teamviewer on both your machines. It's very easy to set up, and gives you remote access to the other persons computer. They won't need to describe anything, apart from giving you a short password to allow you to connect.
Does that work through the multiple NAT levels that we have over here in Ireland on 3 broadband?Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
