my mid-2011 MBA states the following in the Bluetooth description;

Handoff Supported: No

yet its LMP version is 0x6

not that it will pair with the phone anymore anyway - sure it used to with Mavericks
Doesn't need to pair for handoff, just needs to be on (and they both need to be on the same WiFi network).

I want to revert back to Mavericks. Just found out that my 21.5" iMac cannot airdrop to iOS devices and can't run Handoff or Continuity.

I don't know what the advantages of having Yosemite over Mavericks are other than what I've mentioned. Pretty annoyed to be honest.

You are pretty annoyed at a free update that gives you many other functions. For free.

Really?

Annoyed that I can't get the functions I really looked forward to getting for a machine that's just over two years old.

Continuity is working on my Macs, but they are too old (mid-2011 iMac and late 2009 MBP) for Handoff. At the moment, using a USB Bluetooth 4.0 LE adapter doesn't enable Handoff, but there are suggestions that Apple is working on it.

Anyone finding battery life has gone down since updating?

I think battery reporting may be more accurate now. It used to be quite optimistic, whereas now it's more realistic.

Something's not right between the phone and MBA anyway as it won't wifi sync iTunes - can't find the MBA even though they're physically next to each other, both have Bluetooth activated and are plugged in & charging.

might be the work wifi network is stopping it for some reason - will try at home later..

ETA - a reboot of both devices simultaneously has resolved the iTunes sync issue but Handoff still doesn't work for mail, calls etc

Ios8 knackered wifi sync.

Reboot both and should be fine for a while.

Strange how they have dropped the nice, 3D icons and gone back to flat, crap looking ones. Seems to be an odd choice...?

For those of the tinfoil hat persuasion, there may be some fears about what is shared when using spotlight: CLICK.

It appears to be the usual fuss about nothing.

It's the same as Handoff, it's a hardware limitation, it needs the BT4.0.

AirDrop works between my iMac and my sisters 2008 MBP on Mavericks.
