Our 2010 iMac updated without a problem today. Will do my MBA tomorrow.

It's pretty cool that we keep getting free OS updates with new features. Apple are really pushing the IOS to OSX integration which makes sense. If you have a Mac then you are very likely to choose IOS for your mobile devices. It works on me!

Anyone else having problems with Yosemite dropping the network connection over Wi-Fi?
It did have a bit of a wobbly moment for me at first. I just disabled and re-enabled wifi and it's been steady as a rock since.

I've upgraded one machine. The others can wait for a month.

yep Podie,
Happened to be using a friends 'Un-upgraded' MBA today and then back to my toy one..... looks cack

Zod- I was ok with XP, but W8 is what drove me to the Mac - again because its just so bloody dumbed down and awful
Have you calibrated your screen?

My Macbook retina is calibrated and it looks fine, my iMac is not and everything looks a bit neon and cartoony.

Think they mean the new feel?

It is a bit neutral. I did go looking for the system menu with adjustments for that but got side tracked.

There's a suggestion that it looks a hell of a lot better on a retina display than on a standard one. Will have to compare now that Edinburgh has it's first Apple shop....

Works like a dream on my 2013 MBP Retina however my Cisco VPN client is goosed - hopefully IT crew can sort it tomorrow. I'll probably update the
studio the 2011 iMac tomorrow too, fingers crossed it'll be ok..

For those who use Adobe Creative Suite, seems to work fine too.

The Cisco VPN broke last time as well; took a few weeks for Cisco to fix. (any connect)

I'm just in the process of downloading to install.

Just curious if anyone has had issues restoring data from Time Machine as there seems to be quite a lot of chat on the net of problems?

Yup this. I played with the calibration, but the feel is just a bit 'dumbed down' and toy neon like.

First World Problems.
No doubt under the hood as they say - its better for the upgrade.

just looks carp.
I expect a fix, or instruction, or an app at some point. Seems it is an issue reading around some apple forums.

not a fan that the green icon on the 'traffic light' now defaults to switching the app to full screen rather than just maximising the window, need to find out how to tweak that. Graphics seem a little glitchy to switch back too.

Only minor annoyance so far.
I wish they'd just copy the window snapping from windows 7/8. It's a seriously good feature.

Perhaps you should download and try "Cinch"

Bugger. Samsung printer and software fubared.

Edit. Software for the printer on the computer crashes the bluetooth for an instance. Connect through I/P on a browser OK.

It's just returning a message saying the service is not responding.

I also have a 2007 iMac but with 3gb RAM - and it copes OK, I do get the spinning beach ball occasionally but on the basis of this evening's usage not as often as I did with Mavericks.

I did not expect Yosemite to run on a 7 year old iMac and was going to use this as an excuse to get a MacBook Air. On the basis of this evening, the iMac is still usable so I'll stick with it for a while longer. Pleasantly surprised.

I don't know how it would be with 2gb RAM but I would say go for it, and maybe shell out for more memory. It isn't that expensive and it will breath new life into your machine and let you squeeze a couple more years out of it.
Thanks for the detailed reply, I'll give it a go.
Same machine with 4Gb and although slow in the initial boot, runs very well once its woken up. Had to reinstall Skype and BOINC, (neither had auto updated for a while). Not tried anything fancy like hand-offs, but airdrop and iCloud seem to be useful so far. Agree about the colour scheme; my opinion varies between its ok and its Fisher Price as Podie said. On the whole, I got used to iOS7, so Ill get used to this.

Now set to not update anything and I'll do my best to keep it as it is now. Don't want to have to buy a new desktop because the OS has overtaken the processing capacity of the machine..
