What is it like? I'm due a new phone soon and currently have my sight focused in a Z3. I currently use a HTC One M7 that doesn't get through a day half the time without the need to charge it.

Cheers!

Got one a couple of weeks ago - fantastic phone, been off charge for 2 days now and still got 59% left. It's my work phone so wasn't used extensively over the weekend, but even with heavy use it will easily last a day and a half, if not more. Screen and camera both fantastic, sound quality from the music player is top notch too.

I'd highly recommend it, I got it in the Copper finish and it looks stunning.

Just been reading about the forthcoming Z4. Sounds epic if it lives up to the hype..

I'm a couple of months away from an upgrade however I always start to research early, whilst I'm on Windows phone and I've been extolling the virtues of it to anyone who would listen I'm just a bit concerned as to where Windows phone is going, particularly the premium handsets and a few apps that I use tend to be a bit buggy and I'm sick of the wife showing me what she has found that works on her S4 but I can't get it on Windows.

So anyway, I have been looking at the Z3 and reviews and I like what I read and I've had a play with one too and it certainly seems like an impressive phone and I love the design of it, the copper one looks fantastic.

I've had Android and did struggle a bit with it but I am open to giving it another shot.

So it'll be interesting to hear everyones view on their Z3.

Hmmm, the Z4 sounds like it will be fast, but not sure it's worth the wait. Saying that my upgrade is due in January so I may only have to wait a few months...

Or I buy the Z3 out right, go on SIM only and then I'm free to chop and change as I please.

There's a compact thread if you've seen that one?

Compact is a different spec though isnt it? Plus the compact is a phone that I aren't that interested in. I'll take another look and see if anything jumps out though, cheers!

Yeah it's not quite as good I believe in terms of spec. However, most seem over the moon with it, so you can draw some conclusions there wink

I just returned the Z3 I had to Three today.

(Useless feckers; it took 3 phone calls, a few tweets and having to fill an online form, and kicking up merry hell in the form, before receiving the returns bag 18 days after requesting it. Now got to wait until they recieve it before I get my upfront cost refunded)

I had an issue with the way the screen rendered reds that I just couldn't live with; I had screen uniformity issues (backlight brightness very uneven side to side and a yellowish patch in the bottom corner. The camera is poor considering it has a 20.7mp sensor and renders reds horribly. Plenty of complaints on XDA developers about the camera quality; it is capable of taking decent shots, but not consistently, and if you use it in auto mode the pics are 8mp! Apparently the Z2 had similar issues but was resolved via a software update. People are hopeful that the new Android lollipop will help matters.

However, it is beautifully built, very smooth to use and exceptionally quick. Lightening fast with even a mediocre 6mb wifi connection when browsing. Apart from the red issue on my example, the screen is lovely; I checked another example in store which didn't have my issues and it is a cracking panel. Front speakers are very good; it does Hi-Res audio, but I had lip-sync issues on anything I tried to watch on Netflix that I don't get on my other devices frown

There is much to like about the handset, but the above niggles put me off and is why I've returned it. If you don't use the camera a lot and get one without the screen problem I had, then you'll love it. I take my young Son swimming quite a lot and was hoping to take lots of pics underwater of him, I bottled testing it as I knew it was going back, but that feature really appealed to me.

Get a good case on it, it's got glass front and back and a decent drop will wreck it.

I have a Z2 and with it set for 2g and most of the bells and whistles off it lasts 10 days easily, if I need data and all the other stuff then I switch them on when needed.

A friend has a Z1 and leaves everything on and it last several days, the battery life on these two at least is most impressive.

Why not just leave all the bells and whistles on and just charge it while you're asleep?

I don't have one but my brother does, I have the Z2 and was tempted by upgrading but not sure it's worth going from the Z2 however if I was looking for a phone at the moment no doubt about it imo it's the best overall phone on the market currently.

I have the Z3 and love it. It was an upgrade from an Xperia Z and the difference is huge in spite of being only 18 months old. The battery is brilliant and the only downside is that it feels a little slippery but I don't want to put it in a case so I'll live with it for a bit. The performance is great and the camera is such an improvement over the Z but I just need to find a 4K TV so I can see the 4K video I recorded. Luckily there is one in the office next door so I'll pop in there later.

Have they sorted the viewing angle issue that the Z1 had?

I've heard of this issue, but can't really see it too much myself. The screen slightly dims at angles, but it's not the end of the world by any stretch

It's not so much the actual viewing that bothers me - that's negligible - it's the fact that if not holding the screen flush the taps on the screen aren't as accurate as they should be, missing the point you're aiming for (even when used at only a slight angle - when taps miss their mark and you realise the phone is slightly slanted.) Much more noticeable than other phones.

It's my only gripe about the Z1, and my first port of call come upgrade will be a Z3 or 4 depending on what's available.
