Something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Certified-EasyAcc%C2%AE-Re...

if so, what do you think of it? Or can you recommend another brand?

Also, that one is 2200MaH and there is one available at 3000 Mah. Am I to assume that the higher the milliamp, the longer it will last before it needs to be charged again? (physics was never my strongest subject!)

You would expect it to last longer yes.

Not used that make.

Would recommend Mophie Juice Packs any time, though.

ETA - I'm using the Helium from time to time, looks and works like this: http://youtu.be/yPM3XMd8S3o

I bought one of these for my son http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00GX4ACZK/ref=...

Its very light and once on the phone you hardly notice it. Its cheap, it works. Its looking a bit scuffed now after a month of use but it works and it was cheap.

In practice I have found that this will give ~ 80% charge to the phone so it does the job its intended for which is giving my son a boost on his phone when he's been using it heavily during the day and isnt getting back until late in the evening.

ETA: This is for the Iphone 4 not the 5 of course

I have a Mophie Helium which is permenantly on my phone....it's really, really good.

Probably gives about an 80% charge of the battery so plenty to get you through a day however much you use the phone. When I am traveling or away from home/office for a day I wouldn't be without it.

I got "Mophie Envy" when I went skiing with a mate who had one....got one as soon as I came home!

I haven't used one of the battery cases, but I have an Anker booster pack and a short lightening cable which I find works well, without making the phone bulky all the time.

We get them at work. Bit snake oily. Doesn't seem to add that much and doesn't seem to genuinely recharge the phone.
It's also a bit random when plugged in to the mains as it's never entirely clear if the phone itself is recharging, or the case is recharging.
Glad it wasn't my money, and I wouldn't buy one myself.

A few guys have these at work; they do work given we have been out and I've strapped my phone into one and recharged my phone enough to use for the rest of the evening at least. I've seen a few around the £15 mark which would strike me as a no-brainer.

Provided it's the iOS8 compatible model, it comes highly recommended.

I have a couple of the cheap cases for a tenner off Ebay for my iphone 4

I use them when out cycling, as I use GPS to track my rides, this hammers the battery, with the cases its meant I ran my phone for about 3 days without plugging it in , great when camping.

Work really well, you have to use them in the most efficient way though. I charge the phones and the cases, I then run the phone off the battery, when it gets nearly dead, I turn the case on, this then charges the phone. When phone is near 100% I turn the case off. I repeat this till the case dies and then swap out for another

On some of the cheaper cases I keep an eye on them when the are charging, but I don't trust any cheap electrical charged stuff
