Ever since i went to iOS 8 on my iPad 3 16gb i've had space issues. It seems as though it keeps eating up free space until it runs out. Out of the 16gb space, 6.5gb is deemed 'Other' when you connect to iTunes. I have 3gb photos, 3gb apps, and 300mb data. So that 'Other' space is effectively the biggest space hog. I can't restore without deleting stuff as there's not even enough space to do anything.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is it a problem, or is that just how big the operating system is?

The 16gb of storage is 16 - operating system = whatever is left for storage.

As they add more features, the OS will get bigger.

You can delete this from your phone - if you go to usage, I think, then see what is big and remove it. It's probably a software update or some temporary files.

You cannot delete it as standard. It's space used by something, yet Apple don't really define what, or give you a way to tidy it up. So my iPad was being filled by this and made unusable.

Connect yours to iTunes and see how much 'other' takes up.

Mines about 20gb a few gb is app cache, facebook and a popular news website were a gb each of cache a quick uninstall and reinstall of the app fixed that. But to do it properly a back up and restore connected to iTunes will fix it all.

It's not however a new issue for iOS 8 it's certainly been about during ios 7 as well.
