Any interesting hints and tips from those enjoying google inbox?
Agreed, is anyone actually using the new system yet, what is it like? However, if you have an android wear device (i've got a Moto360) then it is actually really useful. I've turned off email notifications on the watch due to getting to many, but Google Inbox does give me only the notifications that are actually important, which is nice. Out of the 30+ emails I received yesterday, it notified me of the one email that was actually a personal conversation with a friend, rather than just an update from some website or service.
One tip, if you plan on using Google Mail alongside Google Inbox, do not set Google Inbox conversations to done at any point! As it will archive them from your Google Mail inbox as well, and there is no easy way to identify which emails were in the conversation to get them back out of the archive, so they are effectively lost and only recoverable by search if you didn't have a label assigned to them.
I'll keep running it as an addition for Google Mail, to get the Wear notifications, but it isn't a Google Mail replacement, for me.

Git. Been looking at these. How do you find it on a daily basis? Worth the money?
Really happy with it, looks nice, battery life is more than enough to last the day, even with ambient mode on, a very nice device. It has very quickly become part of my daily routine, checking the time, setting timers when cooking, checking messages. I had my shopping list on it this morning as I went round tesco . Android wear is a little rough round the edges though, but a new release is due soon.
With regard to Inbox, i'm still 50/50 at the moment.
I've been using Inbox for about 5 days or so now, and I went fully into it. I went in and changed my labelling system to accomadate Inbox, I removed a lot of nested labels, and made things neater and easier to manage. Inbox doesnt seem as easy to put things into other labels though, all new mail is mostly already sorted into the default 'Bundles'.
I know it learns what you want to do, and I guess I need to spend more time using it, and customise the bundles to be more to my liking.
In an effort to be cleaner and neater, the new layout seems to hide lots of things from immediate view, and you find yourself using more mouse clicks/finger presses to find the same information that in gmail was readily available, for example, in Gmail you could see at a glance, how many emails you had in Spam so you could check them.

As an email client, it's pretty awful. There is way too high a possibility that you will miss something that is important to you, but for whatever reason google doesn't deem it significant, or misidentifies it.

I couldn't disagree more. It does a very good job of bundling the unimportant things and only notifying me of the important ones. Everything is still there and gets read, it's just easy to get to what matters first. This is similar to the "social", "promos" etc tabs that google added but seems to get ignored a lot less. However, if you have an android wear device (i've got a Moto360) then it is actually really useful. Marking a conversation as done is the same as archiving it in gmail - it archives the whole conversation which then reappears when a new message arrives or if you search for it (in both gmail and inbox).
Not convinced by reminders inside the mail app, but it doesn't do any harm. Snoozing emails is genius though.
I think a lot of it comes from what sort of email user you are. If you like aiming for "inbox zero" then its ideal. If you are the kind of person who likes having a great big heap to scroll through then it's probably not for you.

So you couldn't disagree more, but then go on to agree with me.
It does exactly what I want an email client to do, whereas you think it's awful at that job Oi loikes it.
Gmail is just personal stuff and Google Inbox is doing a great job of bundling amazon/ebay, social, updates, etc type emails - pretty accurate out of the box too.
I wasn't too sure to bein with but a couple of weeks in, I really like an uncluttered inbox. Clearly, could've done it with a little more effort with gmail app, but it never happened.
