Unfortunatley you won't, Apple stopped signing ios7 a while ago so you can't rollback.

I would reccomend a backup then restore to factory settings then upload your backup.

Thanks for the bad news! wink

I did the back up, reset, back up reload last night, just haven't had time to test the performance yet.

Now I remember about the roll back no longer working being posted recently, maybe it was you, thanks if it was. thumbup

Bugger... at least it's one less step nearer to "having" to get a new one! hehe

When you get a new iPad Air 2 let me know what it's like, im thinking of selling my cracked iPad mini 1, spare 64gb iPhone 4s and seeing where that money takes me. Hopefully around £250 then I'll pay the difference for a 64gb although for the same price I could get the new mini with 128gb which would be good for uploading my photos direct from camera.

Decisions decisions.

IF... you mean if!!! hehe

I certainly will bud.

If the 6+ is anything to go by though I don't think performance will be a problem.
Isn't it lighter and even thinner (probably just slightly) than the Air?

I am still happy to keep my iPad3 if I can get rid of the iOS 8 curse.

Yes, they cut down in battery according to the reviews I've read.

Our original iPad Mini was horribly slow. I restored it, it's now fine.

That's tonights plan for me although mines due to the "other" memory full issue so I've run out of space apparently.

I bottled on the risk of taking the iPad 3 overseas and picked up an Air 2 yesterday.

The iPad 3 was still quite sluggish with YouTube and Safari even post reset, with running through a VPN as well I imagine the performance would have made it ridiculous to use.

The new iPad works as you'd expect, I am now longer concerned. Performance is now much better.
On wifi everything is behaving very well, I haven't tested it in 3G/4G yet.

I do still begrudge the need for this purchase though, my iPad 3 on iOS 7 (I believe) would have been up to the task at least for another year.
Shame there is no real alternative.
