I ordered a new iPhone 5S from Vodafone over the phone as my 4S is finally on its last legs. I was told when I ordered it (8th Oct) that it would be 3-5 days, called on the following Monday and was told it was out if stock, fast forward to today and I'm told it 'should' be here next Monday, nearly 4 weeks after ordering it.

Basically I'm pretty pissed off as I was told it was in stock when i ordered it which turned out to be a blatant lie, so I'm now paying nearly £10 a month more than I was (had sim only before) and I still haven't got my new phone, they have them in stores but they won't give me one of those but the deals over the phone are much better.

Any one had similar? What did you get out of them?

Thanks

I ordered a 6 about 5 weeks ago and despite being told it would be a couple of weeks I'm still waiting for it to come through from Vodafone. I've called up to cancel it as I got fed up with waiting but have been told I just have to refuse the order when it eventually turns up.

Not a great introduction to their service but I appreciate the phone is in demand whereas I wouldn't expect there to be such a problem with a 5S.

Not a major drama for me but the last text I got was 14 days ago saying I'd get an update in 10 days...

Dont know if it helps but I found Carphone Warehouse had better Vodafone deals than Voda themselves, and were in stock for next day delivery last week when I ordered mine (Silver 64gb)

call customer services and explain you are unhappy paying for the increased line rental given you havent recieved your new equipment.

you are entitled to cancel the new contract within 14 days (i think) of taking it out, so you can threaten to take that route and go elsewhere.

ancel, ask for a PAC code and go.
Refusing delivery ??? FFS that's a blatant rip take.
Driver comes to see you Friday , you refuse, item starts its return process, will be around 2 weeks before they enter it all up against your account.
The phone will be coming from Vodafone the new SIM will be coming from Vodafone. Vodafone can cancel all that NOW.
don't let them take the rip out of you anymore.

I was told to refuse delivery and it took me 4 months to actually get them to cancel the direct debit. The Warehouse had a record of the return, and every month they took the DD and when I called up they refunded me the money. In the end I cancelled the DD with the Bank and explained the situation. my bank were great but after a snotty letter from Vodafone about non payment and another 4 or 5 calls, they finally managed to cancel the contract. ... Total PITA.

at the time I was actually working for VF at their HQ too.

Cant remember the exact outcome. Phone was no quicker - out of stock is just that. But got a decent discount and some free line rental....
