Skype doesn't seem to work on my N4 anymore. I get the "not connected" symbol all the time.
Works well on my original N7 which hasn't had the Lollipop update (yet? - is it coming to the old N7?).
Skype app issue. Uninstall and reinstall from the Play store is the advice.Works well on my original N7 which hasn't had the Lollipop update (yet? - is it coming to the old N7?).

Not new. Was in kitkat.
Surprised by the negativity here, still really liking lollipop.
Me too, running great on 3 devices.Surprised by the negativity here, still really liking lollipop.
I didn't know about the "clicking the text below the WiFi symbol" though, works for Bluetooth too...
Although I've made a shortcut to jump to the WiFi on/off page... Easier for one handed use...
Had it a few week... Must be time to root it by now...

Surprised you haven't had the update yet. My 2012N7 got the OTA update a while back but my 2013N7 hasn't yet. 5.0 makes the 2012 N7 worse in every possible way. Way slower.

5.0 on my 2013 N7 is awesome though...5.0 makes the 2012 N7 worse in every possible way. Way slower.
The Contacts app that replaces People looks nice, but is chuffing annoying. Anyone know how to make it show all the phone numbers straight away, rather thank showing a big picture of the person and just one number? You now have to tap "see all" to get to their mobile number which is a pain

But it *looks* nicer and more shiny though. That's all that's important these days isn't it? What, you want *functionality*? What kind of a Luddite are you?
I've not had one problem on the N5, other than re-adapting for the first few days; breaking old habits, fighting reflexes/muscle memory.
But I'd have the same adjustment switching to something from HTC, Samsung, and a million others because they all have their own little customisations.
This was quite a large re-write (ART) and re-imagining of Android, and I guess these changes under the skin are why a lot of bugs and issues are being reported (though I've not had one negative on the N5). And it's also likely why the developer release was out for what, 6 months ?! It was so app developers and coders could update, re-write, and tweak their apps to eradicate bugs.
The reality is the app writers and developers didn't in a lot of cases from what I see when reading complaints online i.e. most of the bugs / problems are from apps which were never updated correctly, and those that have been updated post-official-release-date now seem to behave correctly.
So perhaps in a lot of cases it's just developers didn't take action when they should have during the six-month period when the developer release was available.
Overall, I'm quite impressed with it, and it is probably the way forward for UIs and design.

I like 5 on my N4 - seems at least as quick as KitKat - but selecting the notifications on the lock screen don't always result in my being taken directly to the item in question. Facebook seems a particularly bad example.
I'd noticed this too. That said the facebook app has never been wonderful.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
