My 2012 Nexus 7 updated to 5.0.2 from 4.4.4 a day or two ago and has been fine too. Glad I didn't upgrade to the original 5 when it was offered though. As it had made a mess of my Nexus 5 I assumed it would do the same for the tablet!
5.0.2 wasn't any better on my 2012N7 than 5.0. No obvious improvement in the point update.:Bigsigh: My 2012 N7 is still as laggy as a laggy thing despite the 5.0.2 update.
So...what do I do? If I use the factory reset function, is it straightforward to set it up again? I've got Google and Play accounts so will it just reconnect to everything and reinstate itself? Is there anything else that I should back up and if so how? Lastly what will it restore to 5.0.2 but hopefully a cleaner version?
Thanks for any help - I'm fine using this stuff but crap at troubleshooting.

If you want to keep things like pictures and screenshots or files downloaded, you can back then up to your Drive account if the auto backup feature isn't enabled. Then reset it.So...what do I do? It should be straightforward. Reset it, enter your Google account details and most of it should come back by automatically downloading.

Yes, I think you might be right. Although I have a feeling that might turn off *all* notifications from Google Play. Which actually is fine by me as I get notifications from it almost daily.
I still get "update requires approval" notifications, but my 5.0.1 never materialized. Checking manually it now claims that my 4.4.4 is up to date! (I'd actually quite like to know how to get my system notifications back for when a stable 5.# update does arrive.)

My Galaxy S5 updated to 5.0 a couple of days ago. Haven't noticed too many changes apart from the new notifications and new graphics in the dialler, calculator, settings etc. Initially the battery life seemed to suffer but I did a factory re-set and now it seems to be back to normal.
