Nexus 7 'nearly' back to normal
Since I still haven't got round to flashing my 2012 N7 back to KitKat, I'll give this a go when it becomes available.

For now, it is still going nowhere near my Moto G 2nd Gen or my 2013 N7.

Nexus 7 2012 on Lollipop 5.1. Defo better than the previous update. Wi-Fi connectivity and general performance is much improved. No crashes so far. Battery life appears to be much better. I also did a factory reset with mine to tidy it up and that has helped too. Doing it again I would go with Lollipop 5.1, suck it and see for a bit then do a factory reset if it is still laggy.

My wireless is still st. I've a 5ghz/normal router and it'll swap between these connections at random.

I have sat and watched my phone lose wireless signal, connect to a cell data connection, then try turn wireless on and then NOT connect back up to anything until I cycled wireless.

Same here on mine, although I haven't done a factory reset. Much improved on what the previous crippling "updates" had done to it.

Starting to get laggy again this morning, slow to switch between apps

Screen very sensitive to touch now, often hit wrong app now.

Oh frown and there was me getting excited about 5.1 solving my N7 2012 issues..... I need to find mine in whatever box I've consigned it to and see if it's go a 5.1 update on it....

Fingers crossed....

If 5.1 doesn't sort my 2012 N7 then I will flash it back to a factory image of KitKat. If I do, then I'll post up instructions (or a link to instructions) so you can do too, if you wish.

WugFresh Toolkit and the factory image are all you need to be back on KitKat in no time.

After 4 days I so far have no issues at all on my 1st gen Moto G.
If anything it seems faster.

Same with mine. Battery life appears more consistent, returning to the home screen from Facebook or LinkedIn is definitely quicker and the actual scrolling of the screens feel slicker.

Just to note, you'll need to back up your data as this is a factory wipe option and will erase everything.

I like it, have put it on my Z3 and it seems quicker. Don't know about the battery life but that was epic already. Being able to move apps to sd again is great.

5.1 slowed down after about 24 hours then random crash and restarts began.

Gave up, gone back to 4.4 all running quick and smooth again.

My M7 HTCOne hassled me about this update, I am not going to let it install it and I have turned off all notifications so it does not hassle me again.

I am happy with the way the thing runs now and I cant be arsed to learn new tricks when I know I have a stable OS right now.

I might try and find a mate who has had the update and play with their phone to see if its ok or not. I fell into the blind update trap a while ago and hated all the changes so this time I am prepared.

I didn't know you could do that. That's excellent.

Should I wait until my Z2 gets it officially or flash it?
I can be impatient

I flashed the Nordic version as I believe that it is a smaller market for Sony to test the releases out. I used flash tool that can be found on XDA devs. Not had any issues so far.

Same here, seems to be an improvement in UI and speed. Not so sure on battery life yet..

Presumably you end up erasing the phone to do this? How did you back it up/re-add the data?
