Chrome Tabs on the "task" button is just wrong.
You should be able to turn that off in Chrome - Settings - Merge tabs and apps
This whole thread - indeed this whole forum - has justified its entire existence just with this one post! What were they thinking? Why would anyone ever want to treat each browser tab as a different app???

One thing I do like, though, is being able to call my wife from the lock screen (by putting her in as an ICE contact) without having to unlock the phone first. Not sure if this could be done on previous versions?

Given the amount of cycling I do, I also actually like the thought that in the event of an accident, this could actually be used for its intended purpose by the plod as well!

ETA - I just changed the tab thing. I had TWENTY open Chrome tabs as a result of starting a new one for everything because I couldn't find the old ones! hehe

Got this on my Samsung S5 now. Welcome addition of the wifi calling if the phone signal is pants and I like the cleaner almost IOS look but the phone has become very laggy.

Considering it's more powerful than my S3 it is now dog slow at opening apps and sometimes it can't do it at all. Fine before.

All updated on my Z3 compact.

I feel the battery life suddenly isn't as good, and my el cheapo magnetic charging base now refuses to charge past 75% battery for some reason now too. My other magnetic charger works fine however, so I'm assuming its just coincidence and its bust.
My Z2 was a bit weird for the first couple of days, only charging to 80% over night. It's been fine since though. I read something about the new software having to calibrate to the battery with a few full charge cycles.

Any Nexus 9 users seen 5.0.2 or beyond yet? Mine's still on 5.0.1...
Keep an eye on this:

https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

FWIW 5.0.2 seems to be Nexus 7 and 10 specific. I'm disappointed that Google are dragging their feet with 5.1 on the Nexus 9. Currently their premium tablet. 5.1.1 is now deploying on Nexus Player FFS! Give us 5.1 at least!
Hmm, ok thanks for that smile

Just updated Sony Xperia Z1 and it is like a new phone!
No issues, took 10 mins to settle down and now perfect. I think I will hold off upgrading for a while longer now.
I think Sony got it right, didn't rush out the upgrade but made sure it was right.
Thumbs up from me.

My nexus 4 has moved to 5.1 Not really seen much change other than an odd thing where by the screen comes on randomly when charging.

I'd be interested to know if it stays healthy or not over the coming weeks, please. I'm holding off until I see more good reports.

I updated my Nexus 4 earlier in the week. No change in appearance and seems a bit quicker opening the dialler which was always a bit laggy before.
But the battery life seems much worse, I am hoping it will settle down with a few more days of use.

Further to my post above, battery life is now at least as good as it was before the 5.1 update. The drain was being caused by one app which I have now removed.

Put it on my Z3 yesterday, to be honest it just seems like the same OS but they have moved stuff around to pretend it's better. It's not better, it's just different, seems like change for the sake of it.

Hate:
Not being able to close all open apps at once. Apparently closing all apps at the same time is a bad thing according to Google, sounds like a pack of lies to justify the missing feature.
Unlock screen but then still have to swipe up before typing unlock code, an extra unnecessary step.
Updated my Z3 compact a couple of days ago and have to agree - the extra step to unlock is pointless and annoying. I don't seem able to dismiss all notifications in one go either.

It also now plays a little tune whenever I open the camera which I can't turn off (camera sounds are already turned off). Stupid thing.

Battery life seems a bit worse, but others seem to have had a few days of that before it comes back to normal so hopefully mine does the same.

On the positive side menus etc do seem to be a little quicker and smoother. Overall I think the previous version was better though.

Works for me (Cyanogenmod 12.1, i.e. Lollipop 5.1), so the functionality's still there...

My OnePlus One got the CM12 update last week, I've just about got things as I want them now. For the closing everything at once, have you got the 3 lines icon at the top of the app viewer from the square button? I'm using the Google Now launcher.

"Close all" is a Cyanogenmod feature, as discussed further up the page. I have similar to you, albeit a red circle with a little white x, rather than the three lines.

Closing all apps may use more power/resources than leaving them in recent used list - see first answer here: click.

AIUI that's not a list of open apps, it's just a list of recently used apps. Clearing the list doesn't free up RAM or anything. If you compare it to the list of actually running apps (Settings > Apps > Running) you'll see that it's quite different to the list in Recent Apps.
