Need some advice from you knowledgeable chaps on a decent wireless cable router with good range. I've had to put up with the craptastic Virgin Superhub 1 for the past two years. Finally have one without a squeaking power supply and whilst the speed is spot on (150mb package) on my wired laptop it's utterly useless via WiFi. Any suggestions? I've had a look at the Asus RT-N66U but I probably don't need half the features that it has.

I have had a Belkin (no idea what model) for at least 10 years now, only one problem in ten years and the help line sorted it out in ten minutes, they have a "lifetime"? guarantee.

Had the same issues with the superhub 1, and 2 - great wired speed but useless wifi.

Stick it in modem mode and get an airport extreme 4th gen - £69 from the apple refurb store - http://store.apple.com/uk/product/FD031B/A/refurbi...

Whilst the ASUS may have a load of features you don't need it's still one of the best consumer routers around. I've got one and don't utilise half the stuff it can do but it's still a superb router.

WiFi speeds on my super hub 2 are very good when connected to 5ghz mode. Sadly the super hub 1 only allows you to connect in either 2.5ghz or 5ghz, which is no good for older devices

I've seen some very mixed reviews about the superhub 2. Just wanted to see if there were any dual band routers with decent range for less than the N66U.
