Thanks we get 1.8m currently. But have been as low as 16kbs! Took years of work and pain to get bt to get us up to a reliable 1.8mb!

Is there a Samaritans type organisation for BT Broadband users?
I moved from Sky as their speeds were so slow but now BT just keeps dropping the connection.
Neighbours think the ever changing colours on the HUB4 are part of a Disco at our house.
2 hours last night to send a PM as it just kept hanging then losing the connection.
we pay the same as someone getting loads of Mbs, we are frightened to use it for banking as we never know if a transaction has processed or not.
Yes we live in a village but its only a few mile from Darlington an Richmond in North Yorkshire.
As someone else has stated earlier, organisations are now expecting you to use BB as a way of communicating, we are often unable to do so.

I'm fed up of waiting too. Openreach actually sent me an email earlier in the year telling me that my village was finally going to be getting high speed fibre broadband and got my hopes up. The next day they sent me another email apologising as they'd sent the first email in error and, in fact, we aren't in their rollout plans frown

If I check online for my local exchange status it just says "Exploring Solutions". Yeah, right !

I don't know if it will help but try posting in the BT forums - sometimes a moderator will pick it up and run with it. https://community.bt.com/t5/Broadband/ct-p/BB

Earlier this year our post code in ruralish Peak District was defined as 'coming soon' and that orders could be placed in 6 months. The exchange has been upgraded and some local villages are now up and running. My post code has now reverted to 'under review'. I am struggling to find out why eg are there consent issues for access or have bt decided that my post code / cabinet isn't economically viable. Just wonder how to find out the 'truth'... So far I get fact free responses.
In our village (mid-Cheshire) it took an extra 6 months as they couldn't blow fibre through several of the ducts so had to do a lot of digging up of roads.

Ring your service provider and ask them to carry out a line test on your line, I went to a house this morning and they had the same problems, it was known as battery contact on the line, which means one leg of their phone line was in touch with another leg of another line, which caused their internet to keep losing sync. I found the fault in an underground joint.

Thanks Dotty and Sheepshanks
Had a call from a Gentleman from BT this evening, he tested everything, asked me to check connections to lap top and about the wireless connections - despite the problem likely to be external or the HUB as the connection light on the front was like a disco last night.
Eventually agreed to send out a new HUB so we'll see how that copes.
I'll keep you posted - assuming I can manage to retain a BB connection of course.
