I was after one aswell but didnt stay up to get the reduced price. Ended up getting one of these instead http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J02XVYG?psc=...

Priced at £63.99 but you get another 20% off at the checkout so ended up £47ish. Only a few left though.
Good man, not knock that for sub £50. I remember seeing them a few months back and they looked good.

Amazon doing Chromecast at £18 also.

Cracking bit of kit, this. If you don't have an internet enabled TV and can spare an HDMI port it's a good use of £18.

What kind of discounts are we talking on Apple items?
Only a $50 iTunes card this year from the Apple Store. Best deal to be had was on iPad Air 2 from Best Buy - $100 off all models. Cruised down there at 9pm, walked in, picked up a ticket and was out within 5 minutes :-) Target were offering $140, but that was in the form of a Target gift card.

Tesco £18 Chromecast with Blinkbox, shelf was empty but I found it left by a TV display in a plastic security case. Asda have the Archos 70 android tablet for £29. That's some Christmas shopping done. Yes I know the Archos isn't going to be the greatest or fastest tablet ever!!! But as a Chromecast remote, job done.

Saw this so rang Sky tonight and asked them what they could do. Got their fibre broadband for £5/month for 12 months. Bonus!

I'd expected electronics galore, but Cyber Monday seems mostly oriented around organic tea.

Sponsored by XBox, yet I could only spot one console deal.

There's a portable USB powerpack charger thing coming up later. Anyone know if these can be charged in a car?

Yes, but you should get an adaptor that kicks out 2.1a from the car as most of them are 1a and take an age to charge anything including phones.

Ring Automotive Compressor comes up in 20 mins:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000W08QZY/ref=...

Note this needs to be run off the cars battery (direct) but still probably of interest to many of you.

I noticed that. Always wondered why!

This power pack?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LFA05TA?ref_...

Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, its way way to low in power with only 2600mAh.

Look at these instead:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/13000mAh-External-Technolo...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Omaker-Exterior-10000mAh-B...

Not much more but have 4 times the power storage, little bit bigger.

Think TRADAR55 code will work with the Omaker to reduce it more.

Tempting, idea would be to stick the current 750GB HDD into a USB caddy for movies/music/docs etc. problem is though...

  • 120GB might be a bit tight for Windows 8 + Steam (Skyrim/Euro Truck Sim/L4D2 etc.)
  • USB caddy would be 2.0 only, no USB 3 or eSATA ports...
  • Not sure if my laptop is actually has a SATA 3 interface (I'm sure it would still work, but not as fast as it could? It was quite a cheap laptop and there's some obviously cost cutting, so wouldn't surprise me).

Thanks. Do these charge up fine with cars' cigarette lighters then? Also, how do they fair with partial charging? My idea is that whenever I drive, I normally plug the phone in to give it a boost (rarely drive far enough to charge 100%). So the idea is to charge up one of these portable units in bouts of 10m to 60 minutes (which wouldn't be anywhere close to a full charge). Would I bugger up such a unit doing this?

polaroid tvs are making the hits on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Televisions-/11071/i.htm...

They are only £250 normally (£150 black friday) and people are trying to flog them for up to £320.

They come with probably no warranty as they are 2nd hand, plus an LG/Samsung 42" tavs are on for £264-280.

Some people just ended up with multiple tvs they won't be able to shift.
